LALLAREN Conduct Punishment

Also wanted to say amazing job SHL HO… I’m sure these types of scenarios will only get more common with those in power in our governments excusing and normalizing the Nazi ideology. I think it is now more important than ever for us to work together as a community to name, shame, and root out these types of individuals. We need to remain very vigilant as online spaces like these are where many young people are introduced to Nazi/far-right/fascist/nationalist ideas. SHL should always be a place that has a hard stance against all of that. I applaud HO for their work here

If someone had murdered someone, would that be enough? If they'd called one of our members heinous slurs and plastered hate speech in another sim league, would that be close enough? Or do we have to draw a hard line that if it didn't happen on our forums or in our discord servers, it doesn't concern us, no matter what it is?

I could argue the murder situation even has shades of gray. I would say I feel the line should be drawn at if it directly affects a community member. If a user here slurs or makes vulgar comments pertaining to another user on say VHL, it pertains to a specific person here. There is overlap between users where that can still have an affect.

Yea nazis are bad, but unless there was an actual rule broken this seems like an overreach. Instead of the user interacting with our community and possibly having a change of opinion, they were banished and left to wander their other echo chambers.

Good the user is gone. Don't want any of them here (or anywhere else).

Right, so...if they shot a bunch of kids that would be okay as long as none of those kids were SHL members? I don't expect you to say "yes" to that, I'd just like to point out that you're essentially saying "It's not our business if people literally *want* members of our community to die/not have basic human rights, as long as they don't say that to their faces" and I cannot and will not ever agree with that. I'm not going to sit on my hands and wait for someone to attack one of the people in this community before I do something about it.

If you know there's Nazis, and you don't do anything about it, you become complicit in allowing them to continue to carry on without consequence. People have varying degrees to which they are willing to continue to be complicit, but when it comes to the little spheres of influence I have in this world, I will not. I hope they do grow. I hope they can change. But I will not demand or expect that the marginalized people in this community make themselves available for a game of will-they-won't-they with Nazis.

This is an interesting perspective. If he denied it, would he have gotten away with it?

Glad he's gone though.

Not if we had hard proof, which we do.

And let me be clear, this isn't something we would do without that. We aren't going to be out here like "heard you might be a Nazi, best just ban you to be safe." If we didn't have the proof, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Can’t speak for him but we had similar takes and the point was not if he straight up denied it but rather if there wasn’t sufficient proof that the accounts belonged to that user.

Considering you had hard proof, the decision was easy.

No, he wouldn’t have, because the investigation yielded a positive confirmation of who he was, what he was doing, and what he was saying before he was ever approached directly.

People saying that this crossed a line must be joking. What a shit take.

Dude's a nazi. It's not a loss for our league at all. He can work to change his shitty views by himself on his own time.

And I would argue it does affect our community. I wouldn't have wanted to play for a team he was on knowing he held those views and I'm sure I'm not the only one.
