How many hours a week do you usually have free? I have about 14 or so free hours a week depending on family activities and commitments.

What is the most optimal way of cooking a hotdog: We have a wood pellet grill at our house and honestly it’s perfect. You get the grill experience and overall flavor but without the char marks on the hot dog, which I personally hate. Honestly more important than the hot dog preparation is the bun. You need to just barely toast it so it’s a bit solid so it can hold the dog and condiments without turning to mush.

What made you join SHL? I started in the ISFL first during the early days of the pandemic and met folks there who were in the SHL so I was immediately intrigued, since I’ve been a hockey fan all my life.

If you could travel back to any point in time, what would it be and why? That is a good question. If I was just going for a vacation, traveling back to Ancient Rome during the time of Marcus Aurelius would be pretty fun. Hopefully I can dodge the plague while I’m there but I would be down for some wine and gladiatorial fights.

If you had to give a 30 minute lecture from memory, what topic would you choose? The really boring answer here is that I would pick something to do with my work and collaborating bother inter and outer of your organization. The more fun answer would be something like how Call of Duty campaigns represent growing shifts and priorities in civil society.

What color would your lightsaber be and why? Growing up we had a few of the Star Wars video games and one guy who snuck into a lot of games was a character by the name of Plo Koon. He had an orange lightsaber that I thought was so cool so I’m going to pick yellow/orange in honor of Master Koon.

What kind of play style are you hoping to have for your player? While I had a lot of fun as a goalie with my first player, actually showing up on the stat sheet would be fun for me. For my player, I’ve always been impressed with great two-way forwards in the NHL, and would love to try and replicate that in the SHL.

In honor of your team’s Pride Night, you’re being asked to wear a pride-themed warmup jersey to be auctioned off for the benefit of a local LGBTQ+ youth charity. How do you respond? “Give me that jersey for warmups, give me the tape for the actual game, and set up a meet and greet with the charity as well.”

Any hobbies you’ve been into lately? The spring has started where I am so looking to get back into golf now that the weather has turned. I also need to get back into PC building since my current PC can’t handle W11.

What is your opinion on The French? Great food, beautiful country. Can be A bit stand offish and arrogant but I’m surrounded by worse in my own country.

What is the best book you have read and why? I’ve read so many books that have stuck with me through the years. I have always had a soft spot for “Frankenstein” by Mary Shelley. Just an endlessly fascinating read that transports me whenever I read it.

For this, I would say “understanding.” There are some occasions where you can out-hustle a problem, but you are much better served understanding and being strategic about a particular problem that might show up. You need to take a step back and analyze where the effort may do the most good.

If you could experience one thing in your life again for the first time, what would it be? Dozens of memories with my family that are too private to share, but the very first concert I went to was a Green Day show with my dad. I would love to go back and experience that again.

Pineapple on Pizza? I’m actually not a fan of pizza to begin with, but who am I to knock what other people like? A little sweetness of the pineapple mixed with the saltiness of a pizza is a potent mix.

What is your Mount Rushmore of hockey? Orr, Gretzky, Roy, Crosby maybe? I don’t have much respect for Ovechkin personally.

If you were to choose a breed of dog you would most likely be, what would it be and why? That is good question. I’m going to go off the wall and pick a Rhodesian Ridgeback. I know almost nothing about the dog’s personality but they are cool looking, athletic dogs.

How many hours a week do you usually have free? (ie. 1, 3, 6+, etc.) Usually not many. I have two kids in full time sports and I work a full time job but am also in 4 sim leagues and still max earn and am an active member so no worries here haha.

What is the most optimal way of cooking a hotdog? Barbecue is the best way. I also like slice them in half and butterfly cooking them on a pan.

What made you join the SHL? An old member from one of my other sim leagues recruited me over.

If you could travel back to any point in time, what would it be and why? I’d travel back to when I was a teenager but with mindset I have as an adult. I would have had a much easier childhood haha.

11. What color would your lightsaber be and why? If all options are on the table then Black because of love of the Darksaber and it was the color I used most in The Force Unleashed. Using just the more standard options then Purple because if it is good enough for Mace Windu, Revan, and The Dark Woman it is definitely good enough for me!

Speaking as the user Tesla I am part of the LGBTQ+ community, Agent Tesla as sort of my idealized self is arguably even more so a part of it, and so is our player Lord Marshall Lorenzo Alstott. Given that all of us understand the struggle we are fully supportive of it as a good cause and would enthusiastically go above and beyond for it.

14. Any hobbies you’ve been into lately? The hobby that takes up the most hours of any given day of mine is definitely reading. Followed by video games and when I have spoons writing.

15. What is your opinion on The French? Positive based off of what I have seen of France offering safe haven to American scientists who are being driven out by the current US regime. I hope that qualifies enough as an answer.

16. What is the best book you have read and why? (Comics included) This is a tough one for me cause I read a lot. Going by my favorite series of various forms to make it a bit easier then the following:
Book: Dresden Files (Small Favor) It has my favorite character from the series playing a major role and just a lot of emotional moments both good and bad.
American Comic: Livewires (Collection) The entire mini-series was collected into one book so that makes it easy. I adore this series though as an example of what I think a lot of works should be when set in a grander universe. It has a fun cast of characters, makes logical references to a bunch of background material in the universe at large, and uses it all to tell a story that while not impactful on the grand stage is still entertaining.
Manga: Angel Densetsu (Volume 2) Introduces Koiso Ryoko one of the three best characters in the series, sees the art style start to stabilize, and also has one of the best arcs of the series with Ryoko's introductory arc.
Manhwa: I Shall Master This Family (N/A) I do not actually know if this is getting a physical release for the manhwa so a specific book in the series is difficult, but I have reread the entirety several times now so the series as a whole gets credit as my favorite of the type of comic. Reason being is I am a sucker for smart leading ladies and it scratched that political playing itch that I had after a couple other series ended.
Webcomic: El Goonish Shive (Not broken up into books proper, but going by their site organization Sister 3) Major activity from my favorite characters, and deals with some super significant plot stuff in the series as a whole.

If you can quarter ass something, do it! if all you can do is clean a corner of your room, or only read one of the two assigned chapters, or write the heading for your resume, or put all the papers for taxes in a pile, do it! If today isn't a whole ass day, take pride in the portion of ass that you were capable of

Totally, if you can pick your laundry up off the floor and put it in a basket today, it will be so much easier to put it in the machine and wash it tomorrow. If you can stack the dishes now, it will be easier to wash them later.
Half assing as a first stepping stone is so good, it is much better than not being able to do anything because "if you can't do it properly, why do it at all".

18. If you could experience one thing in your life again for the first time, what would it be? (Book, movie, song, concert, etc.) If I could make it so that it is a totally new experience for me I would love to watch The Empire Strikes Back without the twist being spoiled as Star Wars is my jam and I unfortunately grew up in a time that spoiled it heavily with jokes and the like. However if it is just me being able to experience it as I did the first time then off the top of my head Murasakiiro no Qualia cause I think it is still the series that has made my mind move the most.

- Not too far. I like modern technology. The 90s were cool, would give me oppertunities to make some cash and STEAL THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE. I would then return it as not to butterfly effect away the National Treasure Nic Cage movies.

- Would definitely be something on either computers or technology but only if my audience was normal people. I know a lot but not enough to give a lecture to people who actually know what they're talking about.

- The original KOTOR game was peak star wars and nothing in the franchise has come close to it since. I personally enjoy new experiences in media and less retreads, so there's both not many answers and literally everything I've read or seen.

I'm pretty much on the forums or in discord all day every day. I have some busy moments where I'm off doing something else, but if I'm pinged I'm usually available almost immediately. So probably 12ish hours every day?

What is the most optimal way of cooking a hotdog?

Cut it open so you can spread the inside and then fry both the inside and outside in a pan. It makes it crispy and yummy.

What made you join the SHL?

I was in the ISFL and SDCore kept talking about how great it was here. I finally gave in and joined at the same time as SchwarNarr when he got her to cave.

If you could travel back to any point in time, what would it be and why?

I imagine many people would want to go back to some ancient period of time, but I personally would just want to back to being a teenager. Rough years sure, but I didn't have to work or worry about bills or grocery shopping or any of the day to day stresses. I got to spend most days sitting around playing video games and that sounds pretty great to me these days.

If you had to give a 30 minute lecture from memory what topic would you choose?

The lecture would absolutely be on penguins. Their nature, their preferences, the different types, fun facts about them, the works. In fact I once did a 20 minute lecture off the cuff for a sim league friend's contract demand and I could have kept going, so this would be easy for me.

What color would your lightsaber be and why?

Absolutely yellow. Yellow sabers represent more of a neutral approach and the sentinels. I remember one of the older star wars games had yellow sabers and a ton of lore behind them. That game made up a huge chunk of my childhood and I've been obsessed ever since. I even have a yellow saberber from Disney!

What kind of play style are you hoping to have for your player?

I don't have any real preferences, but I'm currently building Melvin as a stay at home defender. Because I don't care much about stats, I prefer to play a supportive role so others can shine and this has worked for me on the past.

Not only do I accept, but I arrive waving a pride flag and give a long speech about how important equality is for everyone and how no one should be treated differently. People are people, they like what and who they like. They shouldn't be treated as lesser for it.

The only hobby I really have outside of gaming and som leagues is enriching the lives of my cats. I love building things for them, finding new treats for them, and finding toys they enjoy. I spend hours every week trying to find new things to entertain them with and help them live their best lives.

I love the French. Some of my best friends are French. But Canadian French, not France French. They say we don't like France French and I support my friends. Smh.

Currently my favorite book of all time is Project Hail Mary. I have series that I enjoy on the whole more than PHM, but no individual book has quite compared to the feeling that book gave me. Humor, suspense, and the ability to keep my full attention from start to end. It had it all and while I wish I could go back and read it for the first time again, I've still reread it on a multitude of occasions.

Probably the first Avengers movies. After years of watching the universe grow and advance, it was magical to watch all these characters I'd fallen in love with come together on screen. I went back and watched that movie in theaters four times. It was my first time ever experiencing something like that and I still remember the wonder it gave me today
