Welcome, Ohio, to the SHL.
Once the final line between slaves and the free north, the Ohio River cuts along the southern border of Cincinnati and Ohio. Two years following the American Civil War, the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge connected Cincinnati to Covington, Kentucky. Now, in modern times, six (a very convenient hockey number, no?) public bridges span the Mississippi's largest Eastern tributary:
![]() The Six as a branding pays tribute to the sport's emphasis on team, the original six teams (both SHL and NHL), and the six bridges that are both one of the most striking elements of Cincinnati’s physical identity and at the core of the city’s cultural and economic roots. No longer under siege from the Confederacy, these bridges connect downtown Cincinnati to two cities across state lines and are of massive importance to the economy and culture with all four of the non-interstate highway bridges landing in The Banks - home to the arenas and stadiums of Cincinnati sports. At the center of these bridges and the city as a whole, the Roebling still stands proud. The bridge that now lends it's form and color to the identity of the newest SHL team is a historical gem, but it also symbolically lands in front of the Underground Railroad Freedom Center, is what fans of Cincinnati sports traverse as they walk to the stadiums on warm days, and the first part of the finish line one sees when running the marathon. Cincinnati is a city with a strong and unique history, much of it tied to its presence on the Ohio River, and I'm happy to bring that to life here. ![]() While it may not be possible to reflect in the current sim, the primary color and home jersey are white as inspired by the city flag and to capitalize on a color space not really used in the SHL. The secondary colors of red and blue are taken from the city flag and the Roebling bridge respectively, with white and red being the two-color identity. To provide contrast and round out the scheme, the darker blue that represents the river is also taken from the city flag. Ideally we would use the white primary jersey for most games, with the red and powder blue both serving as alternative options, but they are presented here slightly agnostic of usage given the previously mentioned file limitations. Massive thank yous to my two close friends outside of the league who blessed me with the opportunity to commission them in bringing this to life, my former Co-GMs who served as focus group, Tig for signing up for this wild ride, and HO for the opportunity to take this on. See you soon for the inaugural season. ![]() ![]() Head Office Check out my sig shop! ![]() SMJHL Commissioner if two of your three members are in the band i dont care if you call it box car racer its still blink-182

7 as I told you yesterday I proposed to my wife on the Roebling bridge. I LOVE that in your write up you wrote about the Underground Railroad Museum because the other fun part is that is where we went to the day after we found out my wife was pregnant with our 1st child. I may not be a Cincinnati sports fan, but I absolutely LOVE the brand just because of the thought and passion.
Great Job!
