Dom Kennedy - Get Home Safely
![]() 01. Lets Be Friends (4/5) -Chill intro, exactly what I expect out of Dom. That West Side feel that makes you want to roll your windows down even in the middle of fall. 02. 17 (3.5/5) -Beat doesn’t really fit Dom’s flow or style, still not a bad track though. 03. All Girl Crazy (4/5) -Like this sample, it’s a feel good type of thing as expected of Dom. You can see he’s making improvements from what he did with the Yellow Album. Nice guitar bit at the end of the song too. 04. After School (4.5/5) -I really like this track, it’s the typical formula for a good song out of Dom. At this point I know that he’s not gonna stray from what brought him up in the first place; which I don’t mind at all. 05. If It Don't Make Money (Ft. Skeme) (4/5) -Breaking out of his regular mold here and going a little bit harder, rides the beat well. He’s stayed pretty consistent throughout. You can definitely tell he wanted the Yellow Album feel on here and tried hard to get it. 06. Honey Buns Interlude (NULLED.) -Just some jazz, typical interlude without the talking. 07. Honey Buns (Ft. Krondon) (2.5/5) -No thanks. 08. Erica Part 2 (3/5) -Eh, another meh track.. Definitely not feeling this one. 09. Black Bentleys (4.5/5) -This is niiiiice. Smooth as fuck, definitely a song to kick it to. 10. Tryna Find My Way (3/5) -A little too sing songy, but again this is a song I can just chill to. 11. A Intermission For Watts (NULLED.) -Just a girl singing with Dom speaking briefly. 12. South Central Love (4/5) -Been listening to this track for a minute, I think Dom could’ve done better on this and made it a real serious hit. Still nice though. 13. Dominic (5/5) -Favorite track on the album thus far, great beat and Dom does well on the hook and on his verses. Yet still has that chill feel. 14. Still Callin (Ft. Teeflii) (5/5) -Back to back hot tracks, I like how Dom is finishing right now.. I wish the middle wasn’t lacking.. Should’ve put these tracks in the middle. 15. Pleeze (Ft. Nipsey Hussle) (4/5) -Basic track, doesn’t mean it’s lacking. Cool seeing two guys from the same town in LA link up on this.. Nipsey’s verse is alright and rides the beat well for something that usually isn’t built for him. Dom kinda carries it though. 16. The 5 Year Theory (Real Last Shit) (4/5) -Supposed to be the closing track but I got the deluxe version so I got a few more tracks to run through. Nice “finishing†track. Not a bad way to close it out, jazzy. 17. A.M.N.I.G'z (4.5/5) -Beat is 90s west coast style, very. I love this track, will definitely be playing this a lot. Dom could use some work on the hook here, but overall I really like this track. 18. Nothin Like Me (Ft. DJ Mustard) (4.5/5) -Another sick kickback track. 64/80 ->8/10->4/5 Doesn't stray away from his style of being laidback and just wanting to be a rapper that people listen to just when they're hanging out. Made improvements from the Yellow Album mixtape, which is good to see. I will be keeping this in rotation for a bit, but if you plan to listen to this and hear something that is going to fire you up.. Don't.. That's not what Dom is about, it's not about lyrics and hype.. Dom's music is made to make you feel good, he did a good job of this on his album. Props to Dom for doing this album and getting it in stores as an independent. ![]() Registered S42 Challenge Cup Champion ![]() Registered S1, S3, S4, S6, S13, S19 and S28 Challenge Cup Champion Quote:Originally posted by 701@Oct 22 2013, 05:29 AM ![]() ![]() ![]() Registered S7, S22 Challenge Cup Champion ![]() Registered S42 Challenge Cup Champion Quote:Originally posted by JayTee@Oct 22 2013, 12:38 PMI know I may catch hate for this, but I actually bump to Quan. ![]() Registered S7, S22 Challenge Cup Champion Quote:Originally posted by 701@Oct 23 2013, 02:04 PM This makes me feel some type of way. ![]() Administrators Posting Freak Quote:Originally posted by 701@Oct 23 2013, 01:04 PM Same ![]() Registered S7, S19, S23 Challenge Cup Champion ![]() Registered S7, S22 Challenge Cup Champion

New Eminem Good stuff so far. Berzerk's a 4/5, Survival's a 3.5/5, Rap God's a 4.5/5, and this is easily a 4.25/5. Am encouraged. ![]() Registered S1, S3, S4, S6, S13, S19 and S28 Challenge Cup Champion Quote:Originally posted by Taylor@Oct 28 2013, 01:53 PM ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Registered Merica's Lover ![]() Registered S1, S3, S4, S6, S13, S19 and S28 Challenge Cup Champion ![]() Owner S1, S7, S19, S25, S45, S49, S65 Challenge Cup Champion
Finally listened to NWTS. Favourite tracks right now are Wu-Tang Forever, The Language, Pound Cake, and The Motion. Other songs are good too, but those ones definitely caught my interest.

I still like new Eminem. Sure, old Eminem is miles better, but if Relapse, Recovery or now MMLP2 were released by somebody not called Eminem, they'd be seen as good albums.
