Wiz Khalifa - Blacc Hollywood

Hope (ft. Ty Dolla Sign): 2.25/5
-The intro to this track is admittedly solid. The beat is also particularly strong. However, then Wiz comes in and does his thing and well...I don't know what I expected. Shame on me. Song sucks, lyrics suck, and though the beat is nice, the rest of the elements completely take me out of this one.

We Dem Boyz: 4.25/5
-Guilty pleasure track of the year right here. By all measures, this song is downright dreadful. However, I will be damned if it is not a total banger. The lyrics leave much to be desired, Wiz's delivery leave a lot on the table. However, the beat fucking goes hard and compliments Wiz nicely. As a whole, this song is trash, but in terms of bangers, this definitely goes immediately into my collection of ignant tracks with other "stellar" tracks such as "My *****" and "Ain't Worried Bout Nothin".

Promises: 2.5/5
-Wiz, you are a terrible rapper. One must wonder why you decided that singing would be a good call, because it is simply not. Put the mic down, take a seat, and think about what you have done. I do like the laid back production and when he does start rapping, it is admittedly not dreadful. However, Wiz is just not a singer and I guess nobody had the balls to tell him that.

KK (ft. Project Pat & Juicy J): 2.25/5
-Ah, this is the kind of stuff I love from Wiz. He really diversifies his material here by speaking on the lightly discussed marijuana. One of the most diverse rappers out there, Wiz kills this track as usual. /s

Juicy J and Project Pat nice here though with their guest verses, which saves this one from being totally trash. Though, it certainly needs to be put in the recepticle.

House in the Hills (ft. Curren$y): 2.75/5
-I do not really like Curren$y, but it is hard to deny that he is the best feature on this whole album. Sad state in music here. Another track, more Wiz singing and more terrible lyrics from him. Same old, same old. Really looking for something inspired. All of this feels really...boring and run-of-the-mill. Song is not terrible thanks to Curren$y.

Ass Drop: 2.25/5
-Club foder that will have its moment for sure, but more of the same here. I just cannot get into this album. The production is solid and Wiz's delivery isn't terrible, but the song itself is just terrible.

Raw: 1.75/5
-Ah, the worst song on the album to this point. Thank God we finally found one that inspires such a strong feeling in me. Sure, there is a lot of trash on this album, but this one really rubs me raw. Just uninspired, terrible delivery, lyrics, and well, I guess maybe the production isn't terrible, but it is ruined entirely by the presence of Wiz.

Stayin Out All Night: 2/5
-Wiz, you made this song already. It's called "No Sleep".

The Sleaze: 2/5
-Not quite as bad as Raw, but Wiz certainly tries. I can't even be mad, I'm impressed.

So High (ft. Ghost Loft): 2.75/5
-Maybe my opinion is more biased at this point, but this one isn't all that bad I guess.

Still Down (ft. Chevy Woods & Ty Dolla Sign): 4/5
-What is this? A good track? This cannot be! Oh, but it is. Wiz's verse is actually solid and Chevy Woods has a good guest turn here, as does Ty Dolla Sign on the hook. It has all the elements of a track I would hate, but I love the general feel of this track, the production is nice and smooth and all of their flows/deliveries are pitch perfect. I am admittedly stunned.

No Gain: 3.75/5
-The turn around continues as this track is admittedly solid. I have very little to say beyond what I said for the prior track, since much of it applies here too. Wiz has two solid tracks in a row. What is this world coming to?

True Colors (ft. Nicki Minaj): 4/5
-Solid and complimentary production serve as the backdrop for this solid closing track as Wiz continues to impress me (and in a way, disappoint me since these tracks prove he could be better) and hell, even Nicki Minaj has a good guest turn here. When I saw this one on the tracklisting, I expected it to be dreadful, but boy, I could not be more wrong. I am just in shock right now at how impressed I truly am. How can this be?

36.5/65 -> 2.81/5

As a whole, Wiz Khalifa's third full length effort is terrible. Now, it is slight improvement over his sophomore LP, O.N.I.F.C., but only slight. The thing this was has over that last work is undoubtedly the number of quality songs. Four tracks here are admittedly enjoyable, but what holds this one back is the lows. By lows, I mean the other nine tracks here, as they are differing degrees of horrible with some being so ear bleedingly bad that I considered quitting part way through. The things I put myself through...

Jeezy - Seen It All: The Autobiography

1/4 Block: 4.5/5
-This beat from Childish Major goes hard and compliments Jeezy's skill set perfectly. Jeezy's intro track on this "autobiography" sets the tone perfectly for an album laced with drug dealing tales and hard hitting beats. It also serves as a perfect example of Jeezy at his best as his flow and delivery are on point and, hell, even his lyrics get the job done. As a whole, this track really gets me hyped for the rest of this one.

What You Say: 3.75/5
-This Childish Major beat is not as good as the first track and the hook is also not fantastic. However, the verses are on point and, as with the opener, Jeezy's flow and delivery compliment the beat to perfection. While a step down from the strong intro, this one does continue telling his drug dealing tales and, for the most part, showcases Jeezy's talents.

Enough: 4.5/5
-The hook here is the polar opposite to the other as this one feels like it was built to be in NBA video games everywhere. Catchy and hard hitting, the hook works perfectly in between three good verses from Jeezy. Once more, the flow and delivery here are good and the beat from Kenoe certainly delivers. An inspirational track about reaching your goals against all obstacles, Enough represents a change in subject matter, but still continues his story. After selling drugs, he has finally grinded hard enough and long enough to get some level of success.

Holy Ghost: 4.5/5
-A response to the disses launched at him by Freddie Gibbs, Jeezy is oddly unconfrontational here in response. Rather, he takes the higher ground and seems to largely be reminiscing about their good times and lamenting the fact he lost a friend he thought he was so tight with. In a way, this track is somewhat touching in a gangsta type way. Strong production, flow, and delivery, here all combine for yet another very good track on what is turning out to be a surprising effort from Jeezy, who had dropped off in my mind recently, but right now, he is showing me he still has it.

Me OK: 4.25/5
-Jeezy getting into his bread and butter of trap here and he does it very well. The beat bangs and Jeezy does his thang on his verses and on the hook. I will continue to say it: Damn is this album ever surprising me. All of these tracks have me convinced that Jeezy's motivation here was through the roof and it really shows. This album bumps thus far and Jeezy's delivery/flow has been on point.

Been Getting Money (ft. Akon): 4.25/5
-Good production here and Jeezy continues his hot streak with his flow is silky smooth here. He also links up again with Akon, who does his thang on the hook. I love "Soul Survivor" and the combo of Jeezy and Akon here works very well yet again. This one feels like a single, so I am surprised it has not been released as one yet, though I guess it still always could get a release. Not as good as some of his more hard hitting tracks as this one is a bit more laid back, but all the same, I fuck with it heavily.

Seen It All (ft. Jay-Z): 3.5/5
-The beat here is entirely lackluster. Without the weird whistling type sound, it would bang, but that whistling thing distracts from the verses and the otherwise solid beat significantly, which is a bummer. I also do not love the hook, but Jeezy and Jay-Z definitely go in here. Probably one of Jay-Z's first good guest spots in years (hell, one of his better verses in a quick minute too). However, in general, I just do not love this one, though it is far from bad.

Win Is a Win: 4/5
-A quick, interlude-like track, Win Is a Win has one major negative: it is not long enough. Jeezy's verse is dope and the beat is quality as well. I just really do wish it was longer. For that, I cannot rate higher, but if it was a full length track, this one would have serious potential.

Beautiful (ft. Game & Rick Ross): 3.25/5
-Jeezy's verse is good, as are his flow and delivery. I am not loving the hook and the extra elements of the beat are iffy at best (the la la la shit). Game's verse also strikes me as a bit lazy and does not really feel as energetic as I would have liked. Rick Ross' verse is alright, though Jeezy's verse is clearly better than his. As a whole, this one is pretty lackluster compared to the rest of the album, though again, not terrible.

Beez Like (ft. Lil Boosie): 4.25/5
-This one bangs no question about it. The hook from Jeezy is on point and then his verse, as well as the guest verse from Lil Boosie work very well and I like both of their flows and deliveries here. I had low expectations for this track in particular, but I am ultimately impressed by this one and I came away pretty impressed. Not the best song on this surprising album, but not far off from it.

No Tears (ft. Future): 4/5
-Overall, not an amazing track, but nowhere near as bad as it could have been. Both Jeezy and Future reflect on their histories and for the most part, it works well. I do not hate Future on this track and while I realize he does lack talent, on hooks he is actually solid, for example this track and Pusha T's "Pain". This track works well here and I like its placement. The production is solid and Jeezy's verse, as well as his flow/delivery work well on this one.

How I Did It (Perfection): 4.5/5
-Another more introspective track from Jeezy, this one is a truly great closing track. The beat is good, the flow/delivery are on point, and it serves as a nice way to sum everything up from track one to now.

49.25/60 -> 4.10/5

This album truly surprised me. I have listened to much of Jeezy's discography and, honestly, I never truly loved him. He has a lot of great songs do not get me wrong, but I never found an album of his that truly clicked for me until now. There are a few tracks here I did not love, but even then, there is nothing here that sticks out like a sore thumb among these tracks. Throughout, Jeezy's flow and delivery are good and the production throughout is on point. Truly, one of the bigger surprises for me of late and one I can certainly see myself pulling up later on to listen to.

T.I. - Paperwork

King: 4.5/5
-I saw on Reddit not too long along that somebody would listen to T.I. rap nutrition facts on a cereal box, they just like his flow and delivery that much. This song is a perfect example of why. T.I. has a certain swagga all his own and it oozes all over this track as he opens this album like he many times before; claiming his crown as the King. While Big K.R.I.T. is making a run at the crown, it is hard to not see T.I. as the most recent King of the South and, arguably, still the King. The beat here is great, the lyrics are good, and T.I. is on the track. Not much to complain about for me here.

G Shit (ft. Jeezy & Watch the Duck): 4/5
-The beat is alright, nothing special, but T.I.'s flow and delivery here is silky smooth. While I do not adore the beat and the hook is nothing more than ok, T.I. more than makes up for it. Plus, how can somebody argue with the linking up of two top Southern MCs in T.I. and Jeezy? While not the best track on this album, it is a solid entry to the album and works just fine for me.

About the Money (ft. Young Thug): 3.5/5
-Heard this track many times, both through my spins of this album and before the album dropped. I still have no idea how I feel. It is not a bad song, but it is not a good one either. I just kind of leaves me feeling nothing. Young Thug is solid and T.I. does his thing here and all, but meh, this one does not do much for me.

New National Anthem (ft. Skylar Grey): 4.25/5
-I love Skylar Grey's voice and this track is truly no exception to that rule. She kills it on the hook and she is honestly perfect for a track of this type. This is also a very meaningful track, as he discusses the shooting of Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown. Regardless of where you stand on those situations, it is hard not to respect where Tip is coming from on this one. His flow and delivery are good here on a faster and more upbeat beat, which is ultimately the only thing I do not love about this track. The beat is nothing more than alright.

Oh Yeah (ft. Pharrell Williams): 3.5/5
-I don't love Pharrell's hook on this one, but T.I.'s verse are good as expected. His flow and delivery are solid as well. The beat is fine, I guess. Just another track that is not really for me, I guess. There is nothing inherently wrong with this one, but it truly does nothing for me at all.

Private Show (ft. Chris Brown): 2.75/5
-Chris Brown's vocals are on point as usual. Still hate the guy, but as a musician, he is honestly top-notch. He murders every hook he is on and really makes those tracks stand outs. This one is for the ladies no doubt and those are almost always my least favorite track on an album. Instead of romantic, these always come off as cheesy and creepy in a way. This one is no exception at all. It is a solid track musically, but my enjoyment of it is minimal.

No Mediocre (ft. Iggy Azalea): 3/5
-A high tempo track in which T.I., a married man, claims he won't fuck a bitch unless she's not mediocre and shaves. Alright dawg. Iggy goes in here and that is ultimately what saves this one for me, as well as T.I.'s undeniable swagger. The beat is also fine and this one is designed to be catchy. On that note, it is successful. Otherwise, it is entirely lackluster.

Jet Fuel (ft. Lil Boosie): 4/5
-Undeniably hype, but somehow, Lil Boosie managed to be my favorite part here. Guess all that time in jail made him hungry as fuck, because son went in on this track. T.I. was good, but damn, I was blown away. The beat is solid, the hook leaves a bit to be desired, and their verses are both good, but the only thing better than T.I.'s flow/delivery here is Lil Boosie's flow/delivery here. This one was right in his wheelhouse and he hit a home run.

Paperwork (ft. Pharrell Williams): 2.5/5
-I thought Pharrell's hook on "Oh Yeah" was ok, but my opinion here is totally different. On this one, I hate it. Dreadful, just shameful, annoying, ear piercing nonsense. Pharrell, stop. You used to be good. Why. His beat is just fine, but his hook and voice on it is annoying. T.I. is also good on his verses (until the moments when the beat annoyingly speeds up). This is a nice, laid back track that is marred by spotty production and a terrible hook. It is sad since the lyrics here are so good too.

Stay (ft. Victoria Monet): 4.5/5
-From Pharrell's terrible hook to Victoria Monet's spectacular hook. Ah, what a nice change of pace. The beat is solid, T.I.'s verses, flow, and delivery, are also good as usual, and then the hook, as stated, is great. For an album that is disappointing up to here as a whole, it is hard to not see how this is one of the best tracks here.

About My Issue (ft. Victoria Monet & Nipsey Hussle): 4.25/5
-Victoria Monet stay winning here as she delivers yet another perfect hook. This track and the one prior are single handedly turning this album around. She put the team on her back here clearly, haha. But really though, T.I. himself is dope here and delivers exactly what I was hoping for. The beat could be more of a banger in my ideal T.I. song, but I have no real complaints here. The beat works fine and T.I.'s flow and delivery on it are pitch perfect. Nipsey Hussle cannot hold a candle to T.I., but he is just fine on this track and does his thing, so I cannot be too mad at him. Overall, a good entry on this album.

At Ya Own Risk (ft. Usher): 3/5
-Usher's hook is on point, but honestly, I do not love T.I. here. Usher does his thing, but T.I.'s flow and delivery on what is a mediocre beat at best leave much to be desired. I hate the lyrics on the hook though, which is a problem for me, though Usher's voice makes up for it. As a whole, this one is a step back for the album.

On Doe, On Phil (ft. Trae Tha Truth): 4.25/5
-Great beat on this one and T.I.'s flow and delivery are silky smooth as is typical with him. The hook is also simple, yet effective. Nothing too elaborate, but it works well for this one. I wish this album had more tracks of this type, but it sadly does not. Trae the Truth is dope here as well, which makes his feature a nice addition to the track. Overall, this track is one of the better ones here and while, on a typical T.I. album it would not be on the premier tracks, it is still a solid one for him and ultimately meets my expectations.

Light ‘Em Up (Doe B) (ft. Pharrell Williams & Watch the Duck): 3.5/5
-RIP DOE B. This track is simply a track. It is lacking T.I'.s classic flow and delivery, but has good storytelling and lyrics. Ultimately, this one is not for me, but I appreciate where it is coming from and all. The beat could be better and Watch the Duck is a useless addition here. Overall, not really for me, I guess.

Let Your Heart Go (Break My Soul) (ft. The-Dream): 4.75/5
-On T.I.'s previous LP, my favorite two tracks were the final two; "Wonderful Life" and "Hallelujah". While the track prior to this one is not one of my favorites, this one is absolutely close to being my favorite on the entire album. The-Dream's delivery of the hook is perfect and the hook itself is magnificent. T.I.'s verses are meaningful to him and, ultimately, touching in a gangsta type way. Overall, I love when T.I. goes down this road on his albums like he does here, it always works out in his favor.

56.25/75 -> 3.75/5

Overall, this is not a bad album. However, it undoubtedly fails to reach the heights of better T.I. albums like Urban Legend, King, and Paper Trail. I even prefer his previous album, Trouble Man: Heavy Is the Head to this one. Though, luckily, it is better than T.I. vs. T.I.P. and No Mercy, which is nice. This one is all over the place stylistically, but T.I. truly succeeds when he's over a banging beat (King and On Doe, On Phil) or over a slowed down one on a track that is meant to be deeper (like on my favorite track, Let Your Heart Go). The features, aside from Pharrell are solid. In particular, Lil Boosie, Young Thug, Victoria Monet, and The-Dream, all do their thing and those tracks are better for it. The production here was spotty and I blame that to an out of form Pharrell in some instances. His vocal work here was poor and I did not love any of his beat contributions. However, when this album soars, it is largely due to T.I. and his presence on the mic. When it falters, it is typically due to something else (a bad hook, poor production, a bad guest, etc.). Overall, this is a solid entry into T.I.'s discography, though it does fall short of my expectations.

Everyone goes in on this song, Big Sean has a surprisingly great verse. When I saw that Danny Brown was on this song I almost lost it. Nobody can top Em though.
