Scouting Report on Ric Charlesworth
#1

2x for draft media pls.
G'day to the SMJHL GMs
My name is Simo, and I am here to give a scouting report on Ric Charlesworth. Hopefully this will give you all a bit of insight on my character but also in writing some media will provide myself with some money to help me earn TPE better in this league. So all around it should be a win for everyone. That said I'm on discord a lot so if you have any other questions then feel free to hit me up there and have a chat. I'm in the main and rookie discords so should be easy to find but also at Simo#6699.

I've been around sim leagues for a little bit so I'm pretty familiar with a lot of the standard questions for minors scouting. Here goes...

1. How's the league been treating you so far? Are you finding everything enjoyable and and easy enough to navigate?
So far it's been pretty good. As a rookie there obviously isn't a whole heap I am able to do. I ended up at Maine Timbers as an UDFA (I think that's the initials) and have been in that LR a little bit. I know a few of the people around so that's been good. I've played in multiple other sim leagues so I'm pretty familiar with the layout of the site and how to navigate it all.

2. Is this your first experience with a sim league, or have you done other sim leagues before?
I have done sim leagues before. My experience mainly comes from the ISFL and PBE. I've played in the ISFL for four seasons now with the Kansas City Coyotes and in the top division I have ended up at the Berlin Fire Salamanders. I have also become one of the GMs of the Coyotes with another absolute top bloke by the name of @GlimsTC. We have both been running that team for a seasons and a half at this point.

I have only been in the PBE for two seasons originally with the Dallas Dynamos being drafted 6th overall and then drafted with the 10th pick in the majors draft by the Kashima Foxes. Just this off season I was also offered and accepted the co-GM job at the Dallas Dynamos which I'm stoked about. Minors leagues are definitely one of my favourite things about these leagues so super happy to be on those positions and help rookies and be around the team LRs.

3. So far, how active do you see yourself being in this league? Could you see yourself max earning, or do you think this'll be more of an occasional thing?
I can definitely see myself being very active. In the ISFL, after a slow start I was max earning once I understood these leagues. I continued that until I maxxed out my kicker. After that I calculated out my TPE needed per season to give myself a max years career so I have been earning at slightly above that rate. In the PBE I have only missed one bit of TPE in 2 seasons which was the very first primetime. I though I did it and I'll be mad forever that I missed that.

The only thing I think might be a problem for me is the money grind. I earn really good money with jobs and graphics in both those other leagues but I'm not sure how keen I am to commit to a third money grind. I also said I wouldn't do a second money grind when I joined the PBE but look at me now in that league. That said a money grind shouldn't really affect minors teams that much. I have twitter which I stay on top of to earn that easy money. I will have my contract and I'll get at least a little money to make sure I get training and some equipment. I would be happy to do a league job also to help with that I just don't know how much more graphics work I can do and still enjoy it as much as I am right now.

4. Are you open to a position switch if the team thinks you'd be able to help us more by switching, or are you completely set in your position?
I don't know a whole heap about the game of hockey itself. I picked centre because it seems to me like that's where the goals are. In the ISFL I play kicker and scoring touchdowns looks a lot of fun for runnings backs and wide receivers. In PBE I play starting pitcher and hitting dingers looks a lot of fun for everyone who isn't a pitcher. Haha. I would definitely be open to swapping around positions to help the team out but I would prefer to stay in the front half of the ice.

5. What are some things that would be vital to your enjoyment of a team?
The thing I enjoy most about simulation leagues are team discords. I love hanging around those and meeting more people. It's a lot of fun riding the ups and downs of a season with your team and narrowly missing the playoffs every single season which seems to happen to me no matter what team I am on.

6. So far, would you say there's any goals you'd like to shoot for?
Not knowing a whole heap about hockey I don't have much to say here. I just want to earn well and be the best team mate I can be and not let the team down in the sim.

7. If you're available when it's our turn to draft, would you be down to play for...
I've only talked to a couple of teams so far and also been in the Maine Timbers LR which has been fun. So really though I'm happy to play for anyone that will want me around.
