Humble and hungry... Humble and hungry.. Humble and hungry - Young Brayden Point mumbling to himself after being called 29th pick in the draft.
I am posting here the day after the draft. I was fully not expecting to fall so far down in the draft. It came as a shocker to me and a few others - one of the most active rookies in the S76 draft drafted as low as 29. The fantasy drafts had me up there and of course I was and still am a bit shocked. Even the commentators were taken back. All I can say is I wish the teams that passed me up the best - they are going to get lots of goals scored on them. My DM will always remain open to any other teams/players just know my allegiance now lies fully in Detroit and that is not something I will take lightly ! I do want to take minute to congratulate those who drafted well and to the community overall for putting together this sim (regardless of the results this is an awesome league and as I continue to learn more I respect it and how thought out it is). Well I am and will always be in a bit of shock with how the draft turned out I respect the story this will make and as they say everything happens for a reason. All I can say is life is defined by the choices we make. Sometimes we make the wrong choices and have to live by the consequences of those actions. Do not mistake any of this post as anger just peer shock - I am a humble player overall and do not hold grudges or ill feelings - I forgive, not forget. My goal does not change here in the slightest - I am here to win hockey games and bond within the locker of my team. If in the future I end up somewhere else I will promise the same thing, games won and an active player - simple as that. Good luck to the entire class of S76! Wish you all the best now and forever!
To my new team and fans in Detroit: I want to thank you guys for seeing the potential in me - you will not be disappointed! We have a cup to defend and ultimately take again next year and the year after for a dynasty SMJHL play. I am excited to grow with you and it is an awesome tight knit community so far for those of you I have met. I need to show these other teams the mistake they made in not drafting me earlier. Detroit is an awesome place with a deep history for hockey. It is an honor to play for you guys and I look forward to becoming a SMJHL star under the claw of the Falcons - not on the merit of the draft but by the legacy I leave behind and from my smooth hockey moves. I get goals on opposing goalies and win Detroit games simple as that.
