S58 PT #2 Payday!

Usually I try to set aside something from my salary to have extra money for various expenses. A certain amount, they are usually thousands, I donate to charity every month because I realize that for me, that money is not as important as for these charities. Definitely, I also buy a personal trainer who adapts directly to me individually, who understands which skills I need to improve and we also improve them together. Of course, I also bought different equipment, it is more for higher quality trainings. I try not to spare money for equipment and inventory, because, as they say, the more expensive, the better, but you can also argue about that. But inventory is a small part of what I try to buy for a salary. I try more to make happier people by giving something or just donating. I also help my family a lot financially, because I like to give.

The first thing Elizabeth Doyle did when she moved from St. Louis to Buffalo was to find a place to live. A few contract under the belt despite playing mainly in the minors league, she was able to find a calm place in the middle of the Elmwood Village, which is a few minutes away from the KeyBank Center arena. This allow her to live in a quieter region of Buffalo while still being able to reach downtown fairly easily. As a star of the Buffalo Stampede, it has it's advantage to live in a more remote place. She try to not spend too much of money every year, as for some reason, the equipment to play in the simulation hockey league cost a few million each years. She still try to help the Buffalo community as much as she can, giving to charity and spending time doing charity work. She doesn't forget every year to give to Galway charities as well.

With the money that Tom Fiddler earned from his simulation hockey paycheck, he is going to buy a sweet ass car, as he has every season when payday hits. He usually invites Fitted, Cuddles, and Knight onto his sweet new ride, but now there are so many more baby cudas, and as captain i need to lead by example. So this time, I bought two ford F-150's, loaded the back with peebers and ice, lifted the truck 10 feet into the air, and went mudding with the boys. Since this is florida, there are no laws so no one can stop us. We ran over a deer, but also we got stuck on the deer so we had to basically obliterate it's corpse as we spun our tires trying to get traction. Finally, the mangled bones lent us enough friction to get us out of the mud. This is what I havent spent my money on.

this most recent paycheck was a bit painful to look at if i am being completely honest. i mean, damn... its already s58? i started in the J in s41 so we are going on a 17 season career already. im not getting any younger and its showing. theres not a whole
lot of money in being a 3rd liner with diminishing skills. knowing i dont have much time left is one thing but i also recently stepped down from my graphics job... so money is much harder to come by these days. my bank account is dwindling down and will be close to the 0 mark before too long, especially with the weekly training that i am still doing. i am worried that i will have little to no money to pass on to the next Kastrba to join the league. i guess that just means i will have to put in some effort soon enough... or get myself another one of them job things.

The basic answer is obviously squirreling some away to pay for my training sessions over the season and putting down the big bucks for the one on one coaching that we can get during the off-season but there is one thing I'm doing this year with my earnings that has me very excited. I grew up in Calgary so I've had a place to stay and didn't need to find one, but this season I'll be in the market for my own house. It was nice when I was down in Nevada having my own place, even if it was an apartment that I shared with my teammate. I own a Peterbilt and have a couple project cars that me and my old man like working on so I will be looking to get a bit of property to store all that. It's a big step for me as a young adult who's privileged enough to be in a position to do this so I'm super excited to get out there and find my own slice of paradise.

Also I'll be putting some aside for the party nights we have as a team at the rink with the guys. I am a young man after all and like to get a little crazy.

I spend my money on Guinness. I drink lots of Guinness but I'm really buying my Guinness for other people. I am trying to spread the good word of the black beer. When I came to North America I couldn't believe that these people wasted their days drinking Bud Light, Coors, and Pabst Blue Ribbon. THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE MONSTROUSITY AND IT MUST NOT BE ALLOWED TO CONTINUE. For years now I have been championing the cause of Guinness so that North Americans may one day leave the error of their ways and learn just how excellent a beer is supposed to taste. The first time I ever had Guinness was like the first time I ever heard the Beetles. Like seeing my first hockey game. Like seeing the biggest shoe on Earth. The point is I've spent millions of dollars buying pints of Guinness for people all over north america and it's done nothing so far. You North Americans have learned a darn thing yet about how good beer can be.

Slap has had several dreams prior to joining professional hockey, and the contract money he earns has allowed him to realize several of them already:
- Slap likes the color gold, so he special-ordered equipment that was gold plated in every area possible. Underneath the gold plating is tungsten carbide, so he can still smash into people but he'll look shiny doing it.
- Slap always wanted an exotic pet, so after joining the New England Wolfpack, he decided to plan for, and eventually purchase, a genetically engineered dire wolf. He keeps it at home like one would a loved pet, and brings it to games to intimidate opponents and aggressive fans.
- Slap's not a huge fan of writing essays weekly, so he set aside a portion of his contract income to go towards hiring ghost writers for his PTs. The most costly time of the season in this regards is the Championship Week, but it's well worth it to the lazy at heart.

Tomas will be using the newly filled bank account to upgrade his living situation. Because of the cost of moving over the Atlantic and short turnaround to get into the league, he had been sleeping in a studio apartment for most of last season while spending most of his time in the arena. He has been looking at apartments all throughout Carolina but everything was out of his price range until the new season and the new contract from the Rage, Tomas has been able to look at more spacious homes. One of the aspects that was high on his list of priorities was a place to put his weight lifting equipment, as he has been itching to do some training away from the arena. Once having found a good apartment within his price range, the remaining money that was left over was also used to upgrade his training equipment to be put into this new room.

Carlos never had that much money and since this is a weird league where you must pay millions of dollars to get access to training equipment, there's not much left to spend. Especially if you consider Carlos and his crippling drug and gambling addiction. It's rough really, it all started when he was in the juniors and wanted some extra money to pay for training, he tried to gamble a little at the casino but instead just started a downward spiral into cocaine addiction and video poker terminals.

Thus, Carlos's financials are now being handled by his mother who makes sure he doesn't end up sniffing his paycheck. Little does he know though, she actually has a shopping addiction and has been spending his pay on expensive clothes and jewelry so there'll be nothing left when Carlos decides to retire, which is probably gonna come sooner rather than later as he kinda sucks

Ohhhh boy, just signed my big contract and wondering what I'm spending it on eh? Well first of all, it goes without saying, every contract signing I've ever had, I go out and have a great steak that night. Contract day us the one day that money is no option and I get the best tasting steak ever. Besides that, I spend a healthy amount on ladies of the night and certain, shall we say um party favors. One time I even signed my contract into the name of the local brothel, that wasn't a great day for me, but you live and learn.... well sometimes. Besides all this, I'm very smart with my money, I invest roughly .01% of every contract, how many people can say they've got a 437 dollar investment portfolio? Not many I bet. The rret of the money just goes to maintaining my lavish lifestyle

Money is not a problem for ZZ. The little bit she got from her contract renewal with the Winnipeg Aurora, she just dropped in the bucket with the rest of it. Most of the money goes into small things like furniture or in some small investments for future. The biggest purchese was her new cottage in the Lake Manitoba area. A great place for her to relax during the off-season. This also gives a lot of time for her to select new furniture and just boring housewife stuff that helps relax her mind from hockey. But away from investing into the future by buying property and upgrading it to maybe sell it later, ZZ also likes to invest into non profit organisations to help them grow and become even bigger influences for their community. On another note during her free time ZZ also enjoys playing games and is a big console geek. She has upgraded her console collection with all kinds of old-school game boxes and pin-ball machines. ZZ is like most of the hockey community - helping out not only herself with the paycheck, but also the community in her new city and in her hometown. [199 words]

Oliver Pettyfer / Isaac Cormier Hale / Eva Lykke Aparjode

This one is as easy as they come. Alex Oscarsson puts his money into self improvement.

Over in Maine he managed to build himself a modest work out space at home using the contract money. On the rare off day, or during the off season he would consistently work out at it while also working to improve it for future use. After he sold his place in Portland ahead of his move to Boston, he had to make sure to build it up again. The house market in Boston is however worse than that of Portland, so finding an affordable first home would be a challenge. In the meantime he is spending most of his days at the rink, in the hotel, on the road or at Gudmundur Kristjanssons place. Sadly there is no opportunity for him to buy the equipment needed to create himself a space at his home for work out.

I guess he will just follow in the ways of Ethan Price @Zomp. Dunkin all day every day.
