Option 1:

First of all, I want to make the guys friendly both in the game and outside it. Hockey is a team game, and if everything is bad with your team interaction and mood, then good results are unlikely to come. I will also pay attention to mental preparation. The better and earlier a player learns to overcome psychological obstacles, the greater peaks he will be able to achieve in his career. It will be very unpleasant, first of all, for the children themselves, when at the most crucial moment something will not work out for them and they will worry a lot about it. How can you forget about game preparation ? Tactical, game and physical training - nowhere without them. But it is also important not to overload the players with the load, so recovery and rest days are also included. Walks to various cool places in Whitehorse also have a place to be. This is my tactical system to prepare young player to their big day.

Adam Liebold's game plan for his team is to go out there and work hard and have fun. That is the most important part of teaching kids to play. You as a coach need to be a leader to them and make sure they are ensuring they are having fun. After that he is making sure his team steam rolls the other teams because winning is also fun. His plan is to over load their team by playing a very high pressure formation. They will forcheck the other team into submission. Once they tire out their competition they will pounce and overload the other netminder with competitive shots. This will tire out the goalie and continue their relentless onslaught of shots leading to many goals. To prepare for this we will ensure our kids are in great shape with tremendous endurance to out last the other teams. The legs feed the wolf as they say.

As coach of this youth national team, Louise St. Martin has instructed them to just focus on their own game, relax, and play with freedom. That's right, we're going no tactics, only vibes. This is a development tournament where you're here to hone your skills against the best of your age group around the world. Winning a tournament like this is nice and all, but it's not the damn Olympics or IIHF World Championship where the pressure is so much higher. This is a tournament where if you lose, so what, you tested yourself against the best there is elsewhere. If you win, it could potentially signal a golden generation for the program. In real life I (despite being the super-into-international-play-person) have many, MANY thoughts about the overglorification of the World Juniors, and how borderline toxic they've become (especially in Canada), and how I honestly prefer to watch the U18s (similar quality but, because Canada writes it off, way more enjoyable vibes-wise).

Option 2

Barca has gotten quite good and grinding down his teammates sense of safety and security and getting them on tilt, anxious and pissed off. Most players play better mad, they skate harder, finish their hits and sacrifice the body because pain is temporary, where glory is immortal. There are so many young idiots listening to Drake in the locker room every day it's become a bit of a ritual for Barca to smash that stop button when he strolls into the dressing room for practice. If that's not enough they installed speakers in the steam room, and the gym seems to just be a loop of the guys spotify channel. That's alright though, the gym is where personal headphones are for. This also serves as a unifying event for the younger players on the team. They group up and practice harder to beat him, which if that makes the team better than all good. Like a good manager, uniting the underlings by any means is just good management.

Option 2:

Jussi Mutou is usually described as a physically tough player to go up against. He tends to rack up a ton of hits and is explosive both with, and without the puck. And he uses his big frame to get into opponents heads and throw them off their game. So he does most of his work to teach teammates how to avoid that from other teams physical players.

During team scrimmages, Jussi goes all out with physical play, trying to get teammates used to getting down and dirty in the corners, but also to keep their head up in open ice. Mutou knows the effects that a big hit can have on his team, so if the Raptors can avoid getting caught too often, he hopes that will translate to a better result in the ice. So far though, all it has done is left bigger bruises on the bodies of the Raptors squad.

Anchor: The YHWT starts this week in San Francisco and our sports reporter has the story of how a local player is coaching one of the teams in the tourament.

Reporter: Greg Davies a long-time player on the San Francisco Pride has spent the off-season coaching the Youth South Africa Hockey team for their inaugural birth in a new tournament for countries without hockey teams. We spoke to him about his game plan for the tournament.

Davies: We're going heavy on the defense and light on the offense because we fully believe protecting the puck and preventing the other team from scoring will be our way to success in this tournament. We have 1 or 2 fire offensive players but most of the team can be a starter for a lot of teams in need of a defensemen. We're really excited!

Reporter: Davies even said this experience has made him want to go into coaching full time when he retires from the SHL.

Anchor: The Youth Hockey World Tournament Opening game between the South Africa Vuvuzelas and the Brazil Redeemers takes place Monday night in San Francisco; tickets are still available online or at the box office.

Dunkler’s entire game is built around being exactly where his teammates need him to be, even if they don’t know they need him there. Sometimes he gets called “the invisible man” because you don’t even notice he’s out there. Not missing an assignment, not dogging it getting into the zone. Always on his mark and always in a predictable spot on the ice. It’s not as noticeable as a pep talk on the bench or in the locker room. However, when things are moving a million miles a minute, it’s great to have a lifeline. Sometimes it is an outlet pass to get you away from that persistent forechecker. Sometimes it’s a timely pass breakup when you missed your check and they got a 2 on 1 the other way. Dunkler’s stats certainly don’t read as someone who has mastered the game yet. But to really know the impact of the little things, you’d need to ask his teammates.

Task 2

Conner was a punk before he came to EDM and his goalie Justin Time (@RAmenAmen) kicked his butt into gear. They hated each other and Justin would badger Conner to show more effort and skate his whole shift and to stop being selfish and being a good team player and blah blah blah. Eventually Justin found the way to get Conner to listen. He started comparing the game and the team to RuneScape and all of a sudden it clicked for Conner. Justin and him are now very good friends (even if their J GM persona's probably hate each other). Conner became a good teammate and eventually realized his potential as a grinder and now enjoys channeling that punk energy into the other team and driving them crazy and its all thanks to Justin. Without him or RuneScape, Conner would have never let his Shooting Accuracy drop below 15. Now as a grinder, he can play hockey forever.

Option 2

I believe the main thing Luca brings to the table is his physical forecheck. Luca may not be the biggest body on the ice, but he makes his presence known. Not only does he lay the big hits. but he sets up nice passes to allow his mates to score some goals. While I believe Luca can be the main scorer on a line, he really comes to life playing that physical game. Playing the body is often overlooked, but remains a solid way to create scoring chances for his line mates. By forcefully taking the puck from the opponent, Luca allows his line mates to get open, or into a good position, to receive a pass and possibly score the goal. If Luca was not on the top line doing that, I do not think the other two forwards would be putting up as big as numbers. Or maybe I am completely wrong and my role is not that great.
