Dearest Mother,

The offseason is long and cold. The muscles in my legs, despite my best efforts to avoid it, have been experiencing atrophy. I long for the fresh sheets of ice and warm locker room; to be reunited with my fellow Falcons again, Oh! If only we had a way to make the time pass more quickly, only then could my desires be realized with immediacy.

I fear that the first puck drop may never come. Until it does, I wait.
