I like the new style. The heavier color focus, particularly with the lighter tints is a pretty unique look for the site. I feel like the render's shadows are a little dark, both with the surrounded implied lighting and with your flare/flash/whatever that you have near the logo. As always, the jersey swap looks tight as hell.

Great control of light and shadow. The background works really well to match your custom lighting and ties in the overlay layers as well. The minimal use of color looks great, and having it work so well with the established lighting makes it work even better.
