Scouting Report: Liam Logger, 16-year-old Left Winger

Height: 6’3”
Weight: 222 lbs

Logger is an intriguing collection of skills that make him a prospect many teams will look to poke around ahead of the draft. He’s a threat in the offensive zone, using his shot and his ability to read the play to make dangerous chances out of what some defenders might find non-threatening. He can also use his puck handling and ability to find open space to make his teammates better, and he can effectively use his body to screen the goalie. On the defensive end, he’s lacking polish in a lot of situations, but he’s not a liability, perfectly able to make a good defensive play when it matters, be it blocking shots, making hits, and reading the play to make an advance at the puck. His unique balanced approach to his conditioning makes him an all-around athlete, equally strong and agile, with balance to get around anyone and with an extra gear he can hit to outrace anyone. He’s not afraid to get gritty when he needs to, and he can make the brave plays that every coach loves to see.

Logger doesn’t have weaknesses or serious faults to his game. Dare I say, he’s one of the more put-together player in the class. He does need some work with his ability to step in for faceoffs, and he can struggle to make the hard pass or make the long shot at times, but be that as it may, Logger is an excellent two-way threat who can make the plays and break them up with equal dexterity and skill. Watch out, this kid has all the makings of an impact player in any league.
