Shoyo Hinata is a global super star who is wholly deserving of the all star game! The Center, who spends his days suiting up for the Atlanta Inferno, had a fantastic season! They tallied an impressive 57 goals and 59 assists for 116 total points in just 66 games! They also kept their temper very well, only had 40 penalty minutes all season! Shoyo was also lethal on the power play, with 17 goals and 24 assists on three and a half minutes of power play time per game. And Shoyo is a true working person's hockey player, also contributing three goals and three assists while the team was short handed, leading the unit for over two minutes per game. Additionally, Shoyo was not afraid to play the physical game, blocking 39 shots and tallying 52 hits. Shoyo also won nearly 700 face offs. Most impressively, Shoyo had five game winning goals (152 Words)

Tell me about your teammate who made the all star game! Who are they, why were they an obvious choice to make the All Star roster, and what do you expect from them this ASG? (If more than one of your teammates made the game, pick one of those players other than yourself. If you are the only player on your team selected for the all star game so far, write about your team's candidate for last man in instead.)

This much easy for Patya. Let Patya be telling you about Atticus Hale, as if Patya never done this before or anything. Patya knowing Atticus much long now, ever since Carolina days. Atticus is much good person and much good player and is much hard working. Atticus am find any flaw in game and work to not only remove flaw, but make it a strength instead of a weakness. Patya always thinking Atticus am obvious choice for All-Star game, but maybe Patya am a bit biased because Atticus is best friend in league. Patya expecting what he always expecting from Atticus, which is to play hard and fast because Atticus am having limitless motor and is relentless on puck. People should expect for see much scoring but also much setting up other players on team. Atticus very good at working with linemates for make opportunities. Also, Patya saying you should see for Atticus to have fun! Atticus is very fun guy and Patya knowing that carry over into All-Star game!

Which player(s) should your teammate in the all star game be on a line or pairing with? Why? Is it because the all-stars you chose are similar to the ones they play with on your team, or different? What combination will really unlock your teammate's game? (If you are the only player on your team who made the all star list so far, write this task about your team's candidate for last man in!)

Patya thinking Atticus should be on line with Meta Knight and Benjamin Surkhi-Ze'ev. Patya just thinking Meta Knight is having silly name. Patya wondering why he is named after character from Smash Brothers. Patya am familiar with this because Patya am love this series. Also, Meta Knight am great player and Patya wanting to see Atticus play with them. Benjamin Surkhi-Ze'ev have really big year and is best player in SHL, in Patya opinion. Patya just want to see Atticus play with another very great player, just like Patya! Patya not really thinking necessarily they am similar to linemates, like Patya, that Atticus am playing with, just that all players on All-Star team is great and is hard for just pick two to want to see best friend play hockey with. Patya also want for see them all play together because they am all having much cool names. Patya am have cool name too, and therefore, Patya knowing how important cool name chemistry is on a line.

a. The presumable top forward line of both conference teams this season is two teammates plus one from a division rival. For the East, Lacksamus and Svoboda of New England will have their line completed by either Shoyo Hinata of Atlanta or Ricky Koivu of Philadelphia. In the West, Edmonton's Winter and Surkhi-Ze'ev teaming up with an old nemesis in Ekholm-Gunnarsson gives me the shivers as a goalie. Which of these top lines do you think will score more this ASG?
As someone on the coaching staff of a team in the Western Conference, I was in the forefront of the headache that was facing the lethal combo of Evan Winter and Bejamin Surkhi-Zhe'ev repeatedly, and to a lesser extent, Lias Ekholm-Gunnarson. The combination of both the Edmonton players has been lethal all season long, and may it be away or at home, they gave us nightmares, as we knew they would find a way to blacken the scoresheet. So the idea of adding someone that has been at the top of the league's scorers for almost 10 seasons now is down right frightening, and the Eastern Conference goalies should probably require a hefty bonus pay just to have to deal with them.

Code:
b. Both conferences also have two pairs each that played together all season. The East has the top pairings of the Wolfpack and Forge, while the West has those of Edmonton and Winnipeg. If you were coaching these games, would you keep those pairs together, or would you mix them up?
I'm an agent of chaos, a gremlin that loves seeing a beautiful thing crash down to Earth and burst into flames. As such, I wish for all pairings to be separated (in all honesty, even for the previous question, I would rather both forward pairings to be on separate lines as well) and for players to learn to play with other people, who have different playstyles. After all, the goal of the All-Star Game is the clash of styles that comes from uniting all the league's best players, so why not reinvent oneself for a week's span?

The Last Men In are now decided and the rosters are finalized. Who was a good pick? Who got snubbed?
I will let my homerism show, and once again argue that Kyle Murray, once more one of the league's prime goal scorer and one heck of a locker room guy, was snubbed - and the worst part about it is the fact that there were not only one, but TWO players from the stinky Los Angeles Panthers were voted in! The nomination of Reed Kobo is a bit tough to argue, once again as a homer (he is my teammate on Team Switzerland, after all), but I still believe that Murray is a better offensive player, and younger to boot. Speaking of younger, if pure goal scoring is not enough to please the voters, I would've thought that the blazing rookie of season of two-way wizard Oskar Scholz would have been enough to illuminate the eyes of the league, and earned him a spot in the All-Star Team - especially considering his contributions on both special teams' units so early in his career. But alas, the Panthers' fans took over the vote, and we have to suffer our Californian rivals having 4 representatives to the All-Star Game against our sad, lone Lion that is Viktor Hargreeves.

Baltimore Platoon have so many great players and all deserve to be honored or hold a place in the all-star game. But if one player deserves it more this season it would be M'Baku Olubori. This guy plays his heart out every single day. He plays a that hard nose game that every team needs someone to play. His hard work is always a game factor it may not always show on the scoresheet but it definitely is a force. I really cannot believe that he hasn't already been selected to the all-star game. He is also a true leader both on the ice and off. He really is a mentor to all the younger players on the team. The All-star game would be a great place for Olubori to show his true colors and what he is about. I really think that every team that needs a player like him and that the all-star needs a player like him as well

I would definitely keep these pairs together. They've played together all season so they have chemistry. I know the ASG is more for fun than anything else, but what's more fun then playing alongside your friend and teammate at a game that recognizes both of you as being stars of the game? It would be a shame to split these pairs up.

2c: +1
Sean Davies is definitely taking Fantobens and Karsikko. No disrespect to the others, but Karsikko is a Wolfpack hero, and Davies is absolutely going to choose to play in front of his hometown goalie over the others. Fantobens is also a star, so no loss there either. Bring on Time and Brzęczyszczykiewicz!

Ricky Kiovu, my teammate, is a standout player who has earned a well-deserved spot in the All-Star Game. What makes his game special is not just his on-ice performance but also his invaluable contributions off the ice.
On the ice, Ricky Kiovu is known for his exceptional skill set. He possesses an incredible ability to read the game, anticipate plays, and execute with precision. Whether it's scoring crucial goals, making breathtaking assists, or shutting down opponents defensively, he's a versatile player who can do it all. His offensive creativity and defensive awareness make him a force to be reckoned with.
But what truly sets Ricky Kiovu apart is his leadership and positive influence in the locker room. He's not just a great player; he's a great teammate and a cornerstone of team morale. His upbeat attitude, work ethic, and commitment to the game inspire those around him. In the All-Star Game, his presence is bound to elevate the entire team's spirits.

Base Pack our goalie should have made it, In crucial moments, when the team needed someone to step up and make the big save, he has consistently delivered. He's been the backbone of the defense, instilling confidence in the entire team. Moreover, his consistency is truly remarkable. Game after game, he's demonstrated a level of focus and composure that is essential for a goaltender. Whether facing a barrage of shots or dealing with odd-man rushes, he's been unflappable. This level of reliability is a testament to his mental toughness and ability to handle the pressures of the game. In terms of statistics, he's not just a shot-stopper; he's a playmaker too. His precise puck-handling skills and accurate passes have initiated numerous offensive opportunities for your team. A goaltender who can contribute not only in preventing goals but also in creating scoring chances is a rare and valuable asset.
Considering the impact he has had on the team's success, it's only fitting that he gets the recognition he deserves in the form of an all-star selection. The all-star game is a celebration of the best talent in the league, and your goaltender has undeniably earned his spot among the elite. His presence in the game would not only honor his individual accomplishments but also reflect the strength and skill of your entire team.

The top line Ricky Kiovu will be the highest scoring for the East, Ricky has the power to take over the game and score a lot of goals. He will also mesh well with the other players on his line and provide a lot of upside. As far as defense is concern, he will play with full effort.

The east top line is my pick to score more simply because they are the best players on the ice. It’s true in the regular season and unless there is some kind of uncompetitive schenagans like the NHL all star game has, this should be true in this game as well. The better players should dominate this game. 58 Words

Well the answer to this really depends on what the intensity of the game will be. If it is a serious game and winning matters then you have to keep the pairs together. They have built this great chemistry and there is a reason the entire pair was selected. If you are just stupidly trying and failing to showcase the game like the NHL does and fails at, put them in the blender! Maybe have them not able to pass the puck forward or some other silly rule. 88 Words

San-Sam Emerson not only made the All Star game after what I believe is a brief hiatus of a season last year, but was a solid foundation part of it. He’s one of the biggest leaders on the team, always presenting a calming steady nature and being the first one to coach the younger players into what being a professional is all about. On the ice he is one of the best defenders in the league. It can sometimes be difficult to be known as an excellent defensive player when you are on a very high powered offensive team, because the puck so often is in the other team zone, so chances for takeaways or hits are low, but being known for excellent defensive ability is part of his shining star.
Further to this, Emerson acts as a fantastic ambassador to the league. Hailing from the non hockey market of South Korea, he literally put them on the hockey map. It’s so much more than being from there though, being one of the best in the world and showcasing their culture in a great light is doing amazing work growing the game there for them.

b. Both conferences also have two pairs each that played together all season. The East has the top pairings of the Wolfpack and Forge, while the West has those of Edmonton and Winnipeg. If you were coaching these games, would you keep those pairs together, or would you mix them up?
c. Goalie picks were intersting this year; only one cup finalist will suit up for this allstar game. Which goalie tandem - Time and Brzęczyszczykiewicz or Fantobens and Karsikko, would you pick to play in front of? Remember that in the All Star Game, the backup will get minutes!
d. Why should YOUR player have made the all star game, and why should you be the last man in? (If your player did make the all star game, argue for one of your teammates instead!)

a.  I think this question goes to the West no matter which way you slice it.  With regular season goals, the East had Lacksamus tied for first with Winter at 65, but then Svoboda is way down the charts with only 37.  Hinata is up there with 57, but Koivu is just off the charts at 44.  Behind Winter, the West has Surkhi-Ze'ev at 58 and Ekholm-Gunnarsson at 56.  You may look to assists to figure that the East might be structured to funnel assists through Lacksamus, but Svoboda isn't game-breaking to make up for lack of goals and the West stars are right up there all hovering around the same ceiling.

b. I think I would mix the pairs up to have fun.  In both cases, I would pair off the primary offensive blue liners together and the secondary offensive blue liners together.  While they are all highly skilled players, each team has one player around 10-20 points more than the other in the pair.  I would also run two D on the power play because everyone here is good enough to make a difference on the power play, we don't need to limit ourselves to conventional structures.  Overall, my hope here is to have a brutally strong top pair while giving the second pair players a chance to run the offensive a bit more.

c. Let's assume that the goalies will split 2 periods for the starter and 1 for the backup, then we'll build an expected goalie and go with them.  For wins, that gives us 30 from Time and 9 from Brzęczyszczykiewicz vs 25 from Fantobens and 14 from Karsikko.  Interestingly, the East starter has fewer wins than the backup, but that is a team stat.  So we are dead-even at 39 expected wins for the goalie, essentially BASE PACK.  For Goals Saved Above Average, we get 22.9 from Time and 8.97 from Brzęczyszczykiewicz vs 11.77 from Fantobens and 12.37 from Karsikko.  In this case, the West goalie edges out 31.87 to 24.14.  If team East goes with performance over votes to start Karsikko, it's much closer with 30.61.  With all that, I pick the West because I think Brzęczyszczykiewicz as a backup edges them ahead.

My team this year, the Toronto North Stars, is represented by William Tree.  William Tree is our 2nd line center, but top power play and shoot out closer (3rd spot).  While he topped our team in points, Tree is sitting around 81st in points for the league, but that's good enough for the third line on this all star squad.  I think the 4th line ends up being Thomas Lind and Asksel Fiske, teammates from Manhattan, centered by Dwayne Gretzky from Montreal.  So Tree centers the third line between Erik Bergmark from Baltimore and Rikkert Biemans from Tampa Bay.  In this scenario, Biemans is playing off on the right wing, which is something they've done in the past.

So, this is the logical group for the third line, but does it help or hurt our representative?  I think it may be a collective challenge for this line because all three play down in the line up but up in special teams.  They all score around 25-30% of their points on special teams which won't really translate to a game where they aren't the top dogs.  However, the good news is that they are all versatile, splitting their goals and assists basically down the middle.  You don't have three forwards who all shoot or all pass, so they might get the element of surprise, especially if the opponents are focused on the top two lines.
