S74 PT # 4 - Analyze Deez
#1

Please pick ONE prompt to write about. Do not mix and match prompts. Identify the prompt you are using in your submission - Copying and pasting the prompt will deduct from your word count so if you do this make sure YOUR submission is 150+ words excluding the prompt.

Option 1:

Written Task:
Your player has created a new analytics stat for the local hockey blog that you worked with earlier this season. What's the stat, how does it work, and which team is best at it? The stat does not have to make sense or have practical real-life analytical use, just have fun.

Graphic Task:
create a hockey analytics Twitter style graphic showing where each team falls in your custom stat. Again, absurd stats are allowed and encouraged.

Option 2:

Written Task: Describe your player's favorite offensive set play. Your player must be directly involved in the play, including goalies.

Graphic Task: Graphic option: draw the set play in Xs and Os. It does not have to be legal or make sense.

You will receive 3 TPE for fulfilling all requirements.

All responses are due on Wednesday, January 3rd at 11:59 PST. NOTE: IF YOU SUBMIT/EDIT AFTER THE DEADLINE YOU WILL RECEIVE REDUCED/NO TPE.

Affiliate claims from either PBE or ISFL or WSLB or SSL are accepted; link directly to your post and note if your username is different there.
If you have any questions/concerns, please PM me. Tasks with malicious intent will not be graded. The graders reserve the right to determine malicious intent, after discussion with me. You will not be warned.

This task is for SHL players and send downs only. If your player is S75, that's not you.

Earlier this season Ben Jammin and the Chicago  syndicate analytics department wanted to implement and track a stat across the whole SHL. The stat is how much bloons get popped in every SHL game. Around each arena during the game, there are some bloons that will spawn out of nowhere and players will have the chance to pop these bloons. Each time a bloon gets popped that team will earn some money they can use to add in some powerful monkey towers such as a bomb shooter, dartling gunner, monkey ace and even a super monkey.

19 out of the 20 SHL teams are not very good at popping the bloons, but there is one team that excels at them and that team is the Chicago Syndicate. With Ben Jammin, he is constantly generating cash for his team. The sick beats he plays during games sends the bloons away and allows for his team to pop them at ease. At season's end Chicago will be the team that pops and generates the most cash due to Ben Jammin's skimming ability that helps the team earn more money for every bloon spawned. The Chicago Syndicate average 1M pops a game and generate over $100K a game.

Since Peanut is a defensive defenseman he doesn't normally get directly involved in any of the main offensive play of the Grizzlies.  The offensive stuff he does get involved in begins anytime the opposing team has the puck and is across the center line.  The game is on then.  Anything he can do to steal the puck (he has a 4.4:1 takeaway ratio), block a shot and then take ownership of the puck (currently 145 blocks), or hitting to control the puck (64 hits) is where he shines for his team.  He really doesn't care to score goals, but getting control of that puck and then getting a nice assist from a solid pass to one of the actual goal scorers on the team?  Oh baby, there isn't much more exhilarating feeling than when that happens.  Bang.  Boom.  Score!  That's the name of the game.  If only the scoring for the team would go up now to really make the defensive efforts shine.

“The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. ... There are neither beginnings nor endings to the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning.”

Langston has developed the new analytical tool of point scored per hot dog eaten. The way it works is that it tracks how many hot dogs were eaten in the 24 hours prior to or during the game and how many goals were scored by the team. This comes from information with another league where a certain player who has the most points in the league's history used to eat hot dogs during the intermission.
The best player at it is Langston, hence why he developed this stat, but the best team overall is the Colorado Raptors. Langston has a personal PPHD of .732 after getting 82 points after eating 112 hot dogs. The Colorado Raptors have the highest PPHD with 1.56, thanks to Legion of Boom that love inhaling hot dogs before games and get the requisite number of points to keep the total up.
