7. Watched quite a few, but I think this last one was most fun. STL played three games, lost 2, won 1 (wow, just like usual it feels). The first loss and the one that really sticks in the mind is the 3-10 loss to Anchorage, where they rolled us completely. I did notice a fellow rookie, Matviy, had a goal and three assists in that game, so full props to him on an amazing performance. The best game for STL was the second, though, a 5-3 defeat of Quebec City that has been aptly referred to as 'Quebec City getting goalied', because they were. They had more than 50 shots and only scored three goals while we scored five. The best part, though, was that I got a goal and an assist, and thus bragging rights over Naomi and Tsunny... until next time, at least, when they will surely make me eat my words! After that, the last game was a much more boring affair, except the simmer skipping it on accident.

7. So I have watched every single stream this season. I really only skip through to see how my team, the Berserkers, did and to see our team stats. Selfishly, I mostly look at my stats. The most recent stream I watched was last night. We went 5-0 and I played great so it was enjoyable. I do like the format and think it goes fast enough to make it interesting. They do not waste much time which is nice. Earlier in the season, I got the pleasure of seeing our team actually play in a sim game. I think it was just the highlights or something but we got killed after taking an early lead. Although I was very confused what I was watching, it was still cool. I wish they did this more. Showing a game during the sim sometimes would keep people more engaged. I do understand it is tough, but oftentimes the sims are wrongly titled which can cause confusion. Overall, sims are a good experience.

3/4/2024 stream
Today’s stream marked the beginning of the playoffs, and so we began with Maine vs. St. Louis. Maine definitely came into this the favored team, and 2 goals in the first period they certainly earned that respect. To the Scarecrows’ credit they avoided a shutout loss with a goal in the second period, Unfortunately, they couldn’t keep up in the end. Final score: 1-9,
The second game took place between Vancouver and Detroit. The Whalers started off strong with a goal in the first few minutes, but Detroit quickly took the lead afterwards. While the rest of the game felt tense, the lead stayed with the Falcons til the end. Final score: 2-5,
Next came Regina and Nevada. I’ll admit that my loyalties this playoff season lie with Regina, since they beat us Grizzlies out of the playoffs and if they won the championship that would take some of the sting out of it. Like their mascots, these teams locked horns in a ferocious back and forth that saw Regina pull out the win in the 3rd period. Final score: 4-6,
The final game before intermission was Carolina vs. Anchorage. This game didn’t have a clear winner beforehand, with many predictions I saw being split between these two teams. The two teams certainly seemed evenly matched, with only 1 goal in the first period. Without a lead of more than 1 point throughout the game, the Krakens take it in the final 30 seconds. Final score: 4-3,

7. Day one of the playoffs (3/4/24) I watched all the games streamed. This was the first time all season we got to see all games played with a slow sim instead of an instant sim. With the slow sims I was able to see the ice rinks of each team for the first time as well as hear the home team’s goal horn. My favorite game of the sim was game 2 of the Carolina vs. Anchorage series. This game was very intense with a lot of goal scoring. Carolina started of taking a 2-0 lead, but immediately went into the hole 4-2 by the end of the first. This same trend continued until the final period where Carolina was able to take the game into overtime tied at 7-7. My player Max Belcher actually made the game winning goal this game in overtime which was his first career playoff goal, overtime goal and game winning goal. He also had his first playoff assist of his career that game as well.
