The SMJHL season is about to start, after we all got a taste of juniors hockey with preseason. How is your team looking ahead of this season, and who are gonna be the main pieces of your squads?
Written option: Talk about how your team is looking ahead of the coming season. Include at least 3 players who will be key to the success of the team, plus an explanation why they will be crucial. Must include 150 words.
Graphic option: Create a magazine cover style graphic with a headline for the team, plus a render for a key player on your team's squad. Make sure to identify which player the render is supposed to be in the graphic.

The SMJHL season is upon us and things look very good for the Maine Timber this year. They had a very good draft and bring back many very good player to their lineup in what hopes to be another successful campaign. Leading the way for this year's squad are stars such as Timo Leppanen. Cause good teams only go as far as their goalies can take them. Any prolonged run will be no doubt backstopped by Leppanen. If they falter at all, it will be a development season in the woods. Teal'c will also be a key contributor on the back end as the undisputed number one defenseman. Their ability to keep pressure off Leppanen will help everyone and the ability to make a first pass out of the zone should aid the potent offensive rush. One other dark horse could be rookie May O'Nayse who was picked 69th (nice) in this past draft. They have a knack for scoring goals and showed it in a 2 goal game early in the season already

It's the beginning of the season here in St-Louis. The pre-season has not gone the way we had hope, but morale is still high. Our captain Alexa Johansen is still leading the troops with passion and fire in her eyes after being drafted 2nd overall in the SHL. She will once again be one of the main contributors to this team. While not only being of the most active members of the league, she also has the most TPE on the team and has great offensive skills. James Madison is a very solid forward and has great talent for a 2nd line LW. He is our main sniper with a 17 in shooting accuracy. We trust that he will be in the top 20 in the SMJHL in goals this year. He should also rack up a ton of PP time. On the defensive side, we have one of the best shot blockers in the league in 2nd year player Jack Booth, his position skill really helps on defense. On his left we have the competent Nathan Abel. Nathan is normally a right wing, but is helping out on the defense. He can hit hard opposing forwards. While we know we are in rebuilding mode and that we are in a rough spot right now, the players are hanging in there and preparing for a season where development is the key.

The Detroit Falcons are ready for action. With a new season underway, the Falcons are looking to rally behind both proven and new talent to make another deep playoff run. Rock solid Anastasia Soderstrom, fresh off an MVP season, is a keystone to success. A fast glove and a sharp eye, Anastasia has already made some impressive saves despite a weakened defense allowing more than a reasonable amount of shots towards their keeper. With the big Salame in the wings and Mr. Point sweeping the center dot, there is plenty of action on the offensive side of the rink. The big Salame has been making his presence known down deep with a team leading 33 hits in preseason. The top line is certainly a force to be reckoned with. With a combined 25 points over the 7 preseason games between just those two skaters, the Falcons are looking like a serious contender for the cup.

The San Diego Tidal is very looking to be a good team this year. Even if it's thier first season in the SMJHL, the team starts to get a good chemistry on-ice and outside. The team is on a solid shape. There a lot of assest that is very crucial for the team, but the three most crucial players are :

- Journey Man (RD) : Even that his size is one of the smallest in the defence, he's one of the best defenceman in this organisation. His defencive reading and skills is very fluid that let no one passing him.

- Sam Volta © : Volta has a very great potential to be one of the best centers in the league. He has some very great reading play attributes, shots and speed that let get at least 1 point per game so far. He is now one of the best rookies in the Juniors with the most points.

- Brandon Gilleyes (LW) : Very good left wing that is always getting the puck for making a shot. With very good offensive attributes, and with his partners Volta and Stevens, Gilleyes is very unstoppable.

Honorable mentions to : Skyler Stevens (RW), Meo Vanbiedbrouck (G) and Future Conciderations (LW).

Even that the team got a big problem at their first seven games during the pre-season, the team got some big points. Even that in 7 games, the first trio made 15 points (which makes at least 2 points per game in average).

We will see how the Tidal does this year through thier inaugural season. Some source says that they have the same stats as Vegas in the NHL.

For the Colorado Raptors, a championship in S76 will be a challenge that very few teams have been able to complete - a repeat at the SMJHL level. With a lot of turnover in the minor leagues and the amount of talent, it is difficult for teams to win not only once, but twice in a row. The following are three key players who can help them try to repeat.

1. Charlie Slurpe - A small and nimble center from Chicago, Illinois, Slurpe was a key component of their championship team last year. His playmaking will need to be up to par of the most elite in the league for the team to continue to be an offensive force.

2. Shadow Fenix - A balanced two-way center, who was a key part of the championship team last year will need to continue to lead the team on both ends for them to compete.

3. Herman Ståhl - Each team needs to shore up their weaknesses, Herman is the backstop of the team that erases all of their mistakes. They will need him to be a brick wall for there to be a deep postseason run.

The preseason is now over and the regular season is finally upon us. Things are looking super sour for Nevada Battleborn but this was to be expected. In fact, I do believe that we are currently a bottom tier team at the moment based on tpe alone. In the preseason alone, Nevada placed 11th out of 16 possible teams. Nevada is also in a less competitive conference in my opinion since they are with another bottom tier team in St. Louis Scarecrows. If i had to predict, St louis scarecrows will finish last in the standings for regular season and Nevada will be anywhere between 12 and 15. If Nevada has any chance of doing well, we will need to rely on the god given powers of Literally Wizard. The player is already at the cap for SMJHL and also has a total tpe of 600+. Their build is also super offensive as they have the 3 key offensive attributes (getting open, puck handling and offensive awareness) all at 15. We can be sure he will be a top player in the league. Other 2 players, Nevada will need to rely on and are crucial for our success are Kalashnikov and Leevi. Kalashnikov is Nevada's true number one center at the moment at 425 TPE. He is also a giant on the ice standing at 6'5 and also capable of playing a two way game. Nevada will need to rely on his defensive game and his assists to Literally Wizard for magic. Leevi is our number one defenseman. He is also at 425 TPE and also tall standing 6'4. We will need to rely on him to protect our defensive line. Apart from these guys, Nevada picked up 3 good rookies from the s77 club :Boyka III, Gwen, and Effo. These 3 are really active at the moment and only good things can happen if they continue what they are doing. The future looks bright for the team.

It's not hard to see why the Carolina Kraken are already a force to be reckoned with this season. Looking at their preseason record, they boasted an impressive 6-1-0 with 38 goals scored and 21 against. That's more than five. goals per game on average while allowing their opponents to score only three per game on average. A big reason for the team's success going into season 76 can be placed on the shoulders of Rodrigo Banes.

Banes is a 4th year forward, drafted previously by Montreal Patriots in Season 74, has been stellar in his preseason showing, tallying three goals and ten assists, which was second in the league for assists and third for points. He carries the team's second line and proves he can make things happen.

Next up is rookie Swedish Chef, who was tied for second in goals in the league with seven, and he also racked up an additional three assists. He plays alongside Banes on the second line and you could say that they have meshed well early and hope to continue that success going into the regular season.

Finally is rookie sensation LiMu Emu. As a defenseman, he scored two goals and added four assists. More importantly however, LiMu was able to customize and save for many of his fellow teammates, allowing them to stretch their time on ice further! What a guy!

Coming into this season, the hope and optimism was high for Jeyeff Effo. However, only tallying 3 assists through 7 pre-season games has really humbled the offensively gifted defenseman. Effo has been used to being the one driving the play and producing at a point-per-game pace minimum. He has realized he has a lot left to learn and grow, and will be leaning on the leadership and veterans of the team to help guide him to greatness. The Battleborn are an eccentric group, there is a wide range of personalities and talents, ranging from bruising fighters, defensive forwards, and of course offensive defense. The team finished in the bottom half of the standings during the preseason, if there is any hope to break into the top half of the standings, the team will heavily rely on the top line duo of Jim Wieners and Literally Wizard. Both of them are offensively gifted and have built chemistry second-to-none over the past seasons. Wieners supplying the helpers, while Wizard putting them in the back of the net. Cade de Vries will be crucial if the Battleborn are going to steal any games from better teams, his defensive awareness and shot blocking ability will be put to the test as the often shaky defensive core will certainly be leaning on him night after night.

Detroit is a team going through a retool and has recently added a ton of youth with high potential. The team has some fantastic top end talent as well so they will be able to remain competitive throughout the year. If the prospects progress the way the team expects them too, we could see Detroit have a very strong 2nd half of the season. Here are 3 key players for Detroit if they want to have a championship season.

#1. Anastasia Soderstrom [@boom] - Every team needs reliable goaltending and after her stellar debut season, finishing with a .910% save percentage there isn't much doubt on whether or not Detroit will get that again. That is why she was announced as an alternate captain for the team this season! The team is going through a retool which is going to make the game much more difficult for Anastasia, however, if anyone is ready for the challenge it is her.

#2. Brayden Point @No Goal] - Taking on the #1 centre role for a team is a big task but it seems like Point was more than ready for it. He's started the season with 15 points in 9 games. 12 of those points are goals... Detroit is going to need an offensive leader and it seems like Point is ready to take that throne.

#3. Simo Jääskeläinen [@ec06aaj] - The captain of the team is going to play the most important part of Detroit's season. Not only will he need to produce on the ice but he's going to need to keep the team energy high as they battle through this challenging season in hopes for the ultimate prize.

The Vancouver Whalers are on the upswing as their strong S75 draft class leads the charge with support from the main S74 difference maker, GM's Son, and the up and coming players from S75 and S74.

Key contributors to this year's team are the big three from S75, bruiser Groaty Bronson, the shifty Niclas Wastlund, and puck-stopper Masked Stranger.

Bronson is the anchor of the team's strong first pair, providing the opportunities for his partner, Andy Lammers, to drive offensive play. Bronson is known to punish his opponents whenever he gets the chance, and the Whalers will need the intimidation edge to compete in a strong junior league.

Nicals Wastlund is off to a blazing start this season, and the Whalers will be relying on him to continue his hot hand to make up for the steep point drop off after the top line. He backs up his offensive production with strong possession numbers, and will be counted on to continue leading his team.

The Masked Stranger, as the Goaltender, faces the most important job on the team and he has not shied away. Boasting an insane .937 save percentage, good for fifth in the league, behind a defense consisting of three rookies is insane, and the Whalers can rely on him every single night.

The first player that will be crucial to our team is our goaltender Song Ju-gong. He comes off a really good season where he led the league in goals saved above average and we need him to continue to be a wall in front of the net if we want to be good. His ability to steal games could be the difference between winning a championship or not. The second player is Froya Solberg, who is coming from a scoring title win last season. Froya is our main offensive generator and we need the same kind of production as last year if we want to outscore our opponents. The third player is the leader of our defense, Juan Tymer. Juan is a veteran who is playing is fourth season in the league and having in in our defense makes everyone feel safer on the ice, which mean we are able to take more risk that usually ends with us being able to score more goals.
