Draft situation for the Portland Admirals.

As everyone has noticed that Portland Admirals have suffered a harsh punishment. And they stands before a really hard time. Not only losing their first round draft pick (it would have been the first pick in the draft). They also lose their best scorer Buster Killington by a one year suspension. Buster was not only Portlands best scorer, but also second in the league and led the league in scoring goals. And finally they are not allowed to sign up players from the FA market.

What do they have, what do they need in Portland?

They have? trust and they belief Smile

Goalie situation: Nikita Nezerov (TPE 604), Mike Schmidt (TPE286)
With Nezerov they have a very active goalie for their first spot. Schmidt (inactive) will never play more games than he has to do. Nezerov is a young player and develops great, so there is no really need for a new goalie.

Defender situation: Matt Veenstra (TPE 329), Patrick Brumm (TPE 879), Shea Robinson (TPE 424), Curtis Crawford (TPE 253), Pal Vikingstod (TPE 732), Hans Ponson (TPE 637), Andris Bukss (TPE 430)
With Brumm, Vikingstod & Ponson they have 3 solid defender how are able to score goals and give good passes. But with Robinson, Crawfod & Veenstra they also have 3 inactive players in their defense squad. Bukss is coming from the SMJHL and is going to replace one of them next season. So they are in need of some active defender, good that there will be a lot of active defenders in the draft. So that there could be still one left in the second round.

Left wing situation: Ross Burke (TPE 358), Conn Thomson (TPE 230), Thomas Anderson (TPE 541), Maximilian Wächter (TPE 329)
They really have a week left side. It seems that the only one how is still active, is last years second round pick Maximilian Wächter. With Oduya they have one guy that secondary position is LW. Oduya and Wächter probably coming up from the SMJHL they are going to replace some of the inactive players.

Right wing situation: Alponse Oduya (TPE 369), Riley Mason (TPE 319), Buster "Buzz" Killington (TPE 897)
With Killington suspended for one year there are only two players which have RW as their main position and one should fill the hole on LW. Good that they have a lot of center with secondary position RW.

Looking on the Admirals winger situation they should probably look for a good winger in the draft.

Center situation: Krystof Kowalski (TPE 381), Sven Karlsson (TPE 532), Nikolaus Scholz (TPE 760), Beau Ballard (TPE 652), Brian O'Rourke (TPE 357), Kein Monesti (TPE275), Mikhail Kladno (TPE 473), Peter Gasparino (TPE 212)

Eight center, so they do not have to worry on this position you might think, but four of them are inactive. For the reason that they didn't have enough wingers some of them have to switch on the wings like they did last season. So for the upcoming draft they do not need a new center.

So with the first pick in the second round they will probably go for a winger and the chances aren't bad to get still a good and active one. But with the late pick in the third round there will be nothing left to go after.

I hope I didn't forget someone, because in the prospect pool are only two players.

To all rookies how which to join us in Portland, please try not to be picked in the first round and do everything that you can do to join us, we will all love you for that in Portland.
