Will there be a divide between goaltenders with Ranjan being potentially pushed aside for an older more experienced goaltender?
What will you do after your playing career?
I felt very good about being traded to Minnesota. After the offseason in Texas where we lost quite a few key players to other teams, as well, the recent retirements of our veteran players, I wanted the last opportunity to win a challenge cup. I was very sad however to be leaving the only team I have ever suited up for, as I have been with them for 10 seasons. I am looking forward to the final season with a new team, and hoping we can win a cup!
I think we have the talent for sure. With top end players such as Jakobsen, Sarantez, Sawyer, Kallestrom, Stryker (if he resigns), Reinhart, Bananov and Feeny we have a sweet offense. Even with the loss of Salmon i think the Chiefs can do good. Defensivlely we have Byrde and Garbanzo, as well as, Walter White, and Brandon Cant. So we have a great defense as well. Now with a 800 TPE upgrade in goaltending, I think we can go all the way and win the cup this season.
I don't think there will be a divide with us, its one season and Ranjan has a whole lot of his career left with the Chiefs and even in the league, so I do think he should resign or if he does sign elsewhere, do it for one season and come back to the Chiefs next season.
After my playing career I think i am going to sit back and possibly go back to school and finish my degree in engineering, or I may mentor a protege and get back in to the GM aspect of the league. It's crazy to think its been 10 years since I came into the SMJHL and SHL so this is a well needed break.
