I don't think it would generally be an issue unless people legitimately are abusing it. Someone gave an example on an earlier page about people unretiring because their new player isn't drafted by the team with their friends on it. That kind of abuse should warrant disciplinary action as far as I'm concerned. I think a committee would work well to dictate this, it really would be a case by case basis. If someone's trying to unretire for a childish reason like that it could easily just be rejected by the committee, whereas someone trying to unretire for a legitimate reason the committee would allow it.
Basically as long as its not being abused, I don't see much of a problem with people unretiring. I do however also agree that it should count against a player. Not necessarily carrying a penalty (unless its into regressive years), but it should absolutely count towards regression. So for instance if I were unretiring Derringer, I would be one season closer to regression on him, as well as the innate penalty of having not worked toward his TPE all of this season. Maybe some other alternative solution could also be worked out whereby the current player could end up scrapped if you unretire, it would be potentially a harsh penalty but it would definitely make people think twice before going down the unretirement road. So by this example if I were to unretire Derringer, McArthur would effectively be deleted from existence, forcing me to start another completely new player the next time I retire Derringer. It would definitely stop people from swapping back and forth, and like I mentioned before, make people think twice about unretiring. ![]() Registered Senior Member
I like the idea suggested of...
If you're former player has played 3 seasons and your current player has played 3 seasons. You can retire one and bring the other back. So if players want to keep the door open for unretirement, or to qualify for unretirement, you need to have done 3 seasons. ![]() Budget Director Budget Director
Good idea. I think we shouldnt have it. People can take serious advantage of it.
