I would like to see the league either be extremely strict on tampering or get rid of it all together tbh, it's far too much of a grey area right now and for those of us who tread lightly (I pretty much won't even talk to an impending FA :lolSmile it'd be nice to have it laid out.

Regardless of what happened exactly, we should look at our tampering rules and should ask ourselves if they still make sense the way they currently are.

Because to me it feels like this: The league has invented incredibly harsh punishments to look tough and to scare people away from tampering. But now they are afraid to follow through with those rules when there is an actual case, because most tampering cases aren't as clear cut as we would like them to be. And then we end up with something that is kind of tampering, but not really, and where the GM got baited into it, and think "Well he doesn't deserve to lose all his 1st Rounders and get suspended for an entire season just for that..." so we ignore the actual rule and just hand out a warning.

Under those circumstances, wouldn't it maybe be better to have less strict rules about tampering, but then follow through with them a 100% whenever there is a case that is even slight tampering? I think that would make more sense than having huge punishments lingering in the air that we don't actually want to hand out, because the crime wasn't severe enough to warrant that kind of penalty?
