Redesigned Discipline Committee
- Elections for four DC members. Separate teams, two from each conference.
- Within three days a decision must be made.
- If none, I will decide.
- If tie, I will be tie breaker.

Can we not have COI going on here? Like some people avoid getting a DC slap because their bestie is on DC. Have some stopgaps to prevent that.

- Admin control = I can play around with ideas!
- Give me tips on how to improve site presentation
- Will create a "prototype" skin that you can use. If it's good I'll move it to production

Discord

- Encourage people to post on the forums as well. Chatting is 100% ok, of course. But if you got something to share, do it on the forums so more people can see.

Cliques
- I know it's scary, but invite people into your groups instead of pushing people away becaues they're new/different/seem odd. More of a rant I've seen in general, including my own team.

If you can make a welcoming committee/remind the vets that the rookies are people too, that would help. A lot.

I think you can do that in your settings.
Oh thank you !!!!!! Bowdown

I know you can make the change in AdminCP for each forum but didn't realize there was a personal settings choice too.

Where possible wouldn't having more predefined penalties stream line, take the constant griping over the DC out of play? For me that has been a problem how inconsistent the punishments are, and certain members are able to push the boundaries further without being punished based on who they are.

Oh, hey, any chance we can enforce spoiler rules? Still waiting on that tbh...

All you have to do is encourage free agency. When a player explores free agency they always get better offers. Play with this friend, more ice time, Captaincy, more money....whatever it is it's probably better than their current team is offering and it's almost always always more money.

So the more free agents, the higher the average salary per player. Salary cap doesn't need to be lowered. The unrealistic contracts need to fade away and players need to realize teams will pay $20m+ like Simons just got or PLL or Clitsome....the money is out there. Players aren't asking for it and more importantly players aren't going to free agency to get it because of extended contracts.

Your rookie contract should be1-2 years not 3.
Your sophmore contract should be 1-3 max of 4.

That means that player will eventually have a chance at being a free agent. That's activity, that's parity, that's higher salaries....that's keeping the player interested by offering them something new and exciting.
The problem is not going to fix itself, that's for sure.

What is the issue with a GM being part of an awards committee?

Everyone has an allegiance to their own team (most at least). Should we only allow those who move from team to team be part of awards? Does this also extend to the all-star teams?

I think argar made a really good point in another thread (i can't remember which one it is) about getting rid of the hometown discount & increasing the salary cap.

wondering if there are any plans in the works to do that?

If you remove the hometown discount rule then you have less money for stacked teams to throw around, meaning players who need bank will either be encouraged to leave the team or stacked teams will make more moves to accomodate them.

Hometown discounts only help the team for having a player for a long time. If anything it should be reduced to something like 10-25%, instead of 50%.

4 mil goes to 3-3.5 mil, and the superstars can't sign for peanuts anymore.

I think GMs are inherently more biased towards their teams, or it presents an inherently greater risk of there being bias. Just looking to prevent conflicts where we can. Plus it opens up positions for other people too. Just my two cents. It's definitely not a big issue though.

Thanks to Ragnar, Wasty and myself for the sigs.

High Salaries ruin the league anyway, because then good players can just coast on their pile of money and not attribute to site activity with media

If we're paying any player more 1/3 of a season worth of training, something is wrong.

The SMJHL started doing it for a couple of seasons and then it was dropped again. Yes. This was going to be in my announcement in a few days.

“The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. ... There are neither beginnings nor endings to the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning.”

Most media doesn't generate activity anyway.

High salaries keep players active who would otherwise go inactive. It helps fix the salary cap problems and it adds realism. An elite franchise player should be paid as such. They shouldn't be making less money than a rookie prospect.

Media would generate activity become a relevant part of the site if TPE was given out instead of cash.
