Montreal Militia per-game playlist
1-Pretender-Foo Fighters My choice, the rest of the team goes along with it. Artemi Berezin occasionally tells me to shut that crap off. 2-TNT- AC/DC Max Hansen Loves this choice. he sings it Louder every time he hears it. Team loves watching him, There may even be a youtube video. 3Soldier-Eminem This is a team favorite. Everyone pretty much gets into this. 4-The Final Countdown-Europe Barbie Tanner's choice. This one has the locker room split almost down the middle between crank up the classic and Turn that old man crap off! 5-Lose Yourself-Eminem This one is what we listen to moments before hitting the ice. No one on the team objects to this. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Registered Senior Member

Aquarius / Let the Sunshine In (The Flesh Failures) - I put this song on myself in the gym when the sun is coming up in the morning. I open all the doors to the gym at the part of the song that they sing to "let the sunshine in" and bask in the vitamin D. Sometimes I lift up smaller members of the team and hold them higher up in the sun so they get more warmth. It's a great time and more and more members have started showing up for early morning work outs.Full Vitamin D here Batman Theme Song (from Adam West TV show) - This song is played in the team showers once we are all in and settled. We sing it together and dancing while flexing ensues. Sometimes we play an entire Batman playlist and really take our time getting clean! Link to it here if needed for shower dance flexing F**k Everything (Jon Lajoie) - This song is first on our playlist after a loss. "And fuck birth, entering the world of space & time is a bitch. Searching for purpose in the random universe sucks dick. Is it deterministic or am I free to choose my way." The song has some low points but it ends on a strong message about loving everything.Full Song here Shakira - Hips Don't Lie ft. Wyclef Jean - This is the song is first on the list after a win! The whole team really gets into dancing to this and it's really beautiful to see in action. We have been practising our moves in the mirrors and as a team I think we have come a long way. Our hips don't lie.Dance Steps here WWE: "The Game" Triple H 17th Theme Song - Our song we play before heading out to the ice for the first period reminds us that life itself is a game. We are so lucky to be having this much fun and we can take control of the game on the ice if we chose it. We all have the talent we just need to focus our brains. Thanks to philosopher Tripler H we are stronger as a team. Triple H Philosophy On Life Song ![]() Registered S35 Challenge Cup Champion || DELETE
Ain't No Rest for the Wicked - Cage The Elephant
I really enjoy this song, because it emphasizes the fact that resting while alive is a waste and that we should constantly be doing something productive and not hold anything back in life. In addition, the song simply kicks ass! The team thoroughly appreciates this fact, and it's why it's commonly blasted in the locker room! :D Ten Thousand Fits - Disturbed My pump up song. Aside from a metal song being perfect for getting you psyched for the game, the song reminds me that the site of seeing ten thousand plus fans with their hands up and rooting for me is a site to behold. There's Only One Conor McGregor - Mick Konstantin The song that reminds me how how awesome it's to be Conor McGregor and traces his start to the highs of his career. Besides, that's me here after all! ![]() Foggy Dew - Sinead O'Connor Perhaps the most famous Irish ballad about those who died during the Easter Rising. Not only does the somber nature of the song give me chills, but it reminds me how proud I am to be a hockey representative for Ireland. I will make sure this is played in the Irish locker room, once I hopefully make the team someday! Wonderwall - Oasis No special reason for this selection, aside from the fact that it's one of the best songs ever produced (in my opinion) and always brings a smile to my face. In fact, a good majority of my team agrees with this fact, which is why we typically play the song after every win! :D ![]() Registered S8, S9, S27, S29, S32, S42 Challenge Cup Champion
1) The Score- Unstoppable
This song is uplifting and gets the guys pumping, making them feel invincible. Just try to stop us on the ice! 2) Three Days Grace- Never Too Late We have struggled to get wins early on, but we aren't giving up. This song is the epitome of what we believe in. 3) Wiz Khalifa- See you again This song may seem like an odd choice, but it is important in the playlist dynamic. This song helps humble us, make us think of those special people we're missing or will never see again, and reminds us of what we are playing for. 4) Britney Spears- Womanizer This is a catchy tune, and if we're being honest, all of the Raiders are sexy as fuck. We don't have to be modest about it, and we definitely aren't. This song is usually accompanied by towel whipping and muscle flexing. 5) Imagine Dragons- Believer As the new member on the team, this is my personal pick/contribution. I want everyone on our team to believe in each other and in themselves, to be the hero rather than wait for someone else to be the savior. It's upbeat, but has the message of starting low and getting greatness from pain. ![]() Registered Member Quote:Originally posted by Jenny@Feb 2 2018, 12:16 AM Gilmore Tuttle isn't always a fan of the team curated lists, so more often than not, he has his own earbuds in, listening to the music he likes. This is not ONLY because of music choices, but due to the fact that a lot of music is hype-up music, to get you psyched for the game, Gilmore needs quieter music to calm him down before a game, to help keep him level and in the now so that he doesn't make a mistake on the defensive end from being too hyped up. 1. As the wise Barney Stinson, no relation to the SHL player once said, a playlist should be all rise. So with that in mind, here's my pre-game playlist when I get a chance to choose.
1. Wild for the Night- ASAP Rocky feat. Skrillex and Birdy Nam Nam. This song starts off a little slow, but once the intro is done it goes into a heavy beat and good flow, getting anyone pumped up for a game. 2. BOOGIE- BROCKHAMPTON. Following Wild for the Night you have to have another song that is a rise, luckly BOOGIE does that. With an instant strong beat, it'll continue the effect of pumping the players up. 3. Rockstar- Post Malone feat. 21 Savage. Here we have another banger to pump you up. However it starts of slow and doesn't have the strong beat like BOOGIE and Wild for the Night does, it makes up with it for having the lifestyle every SMJHLer dreams of. 4. Ric Flair Drop- Metro Boomin' feat. Offset. Back to another strong beat banger. The strong beat goes off without warning, and just keeps you pumped for the game coming up. 5. Til I Collapse- Eminem feat. Nate Dogg. Going old school with this one (if 2002 is considered old school). With a slow start, it doesn't keep the rise as well as it should, but once the intro is done, this song will pump up anyone who isn't yet, and is the song you want to send you off to destroy the opposing team. ![]() Registered Posting Freak
I decided to go a bit weird with this and chose songs that fit with the usernames and/or player names of my teammates. It is not a mix that I would typically expect to be played before a sporting event, and I don't really know these songs other than the titles (other than #1). It was entertaining though.
1. Baba O'Riley - The Who Our #2 goalie, Grim "Teenage" Wastlund, was the inspiration for this number. It's also the only one that I would personally enjoy listening to before a hockey game. The Who rocks man. 2. You're the One that I Want - John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John We've got a trio of players - Doc DiGreasi, Gary Grease, and Grease La Roche - with the word grease (or close enough) in their names, so I just had to pick something from Grease the movie. Plus, who doesn't want to listen to Travolta? 3. The Twelve Days of Christmas - Frederic Austin A tribute to our starting goalie, Chris "Lives in a pear tree" Partridge. Please forgive me Chris, my Mammoths teammates, and the rest of the league - it was really low hanging fruit. 4. Dragostea Din Tei - O-Zone (popularized as the Numa Numa dance) This is probably showing my age, but I remember the Numa Numa craze from when I was in 8th grade. Anyways, Wuma Duce always thought that the song was about him as they kept singing "Wuma Wuma", so I couldn't resist the dig at him (note: he doesn't really think that as far as I know). 5. Magic Night - Village People Anybody else ever notice that "enigmatic" is an anagram of "magic nite"? Just me? The final song on our list is a tribute to #1 pick Florence Clijsters; my apologies if the song itself is not something you want attributed to you. ![]() Registered S42 Challenge Cup Champion
First off The Dude always makes everyone listen to five minutes of his last perfect game bowling. Apparently Dude makes an audio recording of all his bowling sessions, which he takes very seriously.
Second, we generally swing into some of Paddy O'Sullivan's Irish ballads, here represented by the traditional Erin Go Bragh as recorded by the Dubliners. Next we get a selection from the one and only Tony Snow. This slick and dashing man about town won't hit the ice before a dry martini and a little Dean Martin. Tony often goes with Dean's classic rendition of Volare. Lately G.O.D. McZerhl has been trying to play the Horst Wessel song before games, as he removes his brown shirt. but no one wants to hear that shit. Loveable lush Jack Daniels is good for at least one spin of George Thorogood's One Bourbon, One Scotch and One Beer. Lastly rookie Otis B. Driftwood has taken to singing a live version of Lydia The Tattoed Lady immediately before the team takes the ice. ![]() ![]() ![]() Registered Senior Member
1) Back 2 Good - Matchbox Twenty
Not sure what it is about this song, it just gets the blood flowing. Hypes us but not too much. Calms the nerves and get's your mind in shape. 2) Haven't Met You Yet - Michael Buble Everyone has goals they haven't met yet. Albeit a little cheesy, it's a reminder what we are working for 3) Mr Jones - Counting Crows Just a fun song. Gets you movin and groovin. I may or may not have used my stick as a microphone more than once. 4) Praise you in this Storm- Casting Crowns Not everyone can come out and play the religious songs. It's almost a taboo at this point but I can't help listening before games. Not necessarily a pump up song, but I feel something come over me. The calm before the storm that is the last song. 5) If You Can't Hang - Sleeping with Sirens Straight pump up song. Starts low and goes hard shortly after. Great song to start the game with. Let it flow through you and get that competitive edge ready. ![]() 3 time Four Star Cup Champion S40-S42 S43 Jesster Trophy Nominee Winner Scored my first SHL goal in just my second SHL game. 2. BRONCHO - Class Historian
Scarecrows right winger Kjetil Veblen selected this song because it's upbeat and has a hook that will burrow it's way into your brain and refuse to leave. It's the perfect song for taking the ice for warmups. The Orwells - Who Needs You Scarecrows goalie Kyle Davies selected this song because not only is it a good hype song but it also expresses his frustration with the politics of his country. "Who needs you" is also a common refrain from Davies, who thinks the team would be better off if he just played every position. Goat - Hide From the Sun Right winger Tony Snow selected this song because it's "totally far out man". He enjoys meditating to the strange, mysterious noises in order to get him in the mindset to compete. He also thinks it creates a bond with fellow teammate Kjetil Veblen because this band is from Sweden. Veblen is from Norway but is too embarrassed to explain the difference. Chris Stapleton - Scarecrow in the Garden Scarecrow defenseman Otis B. Driftwood selected this song because, "um, it has our team name in the title man." It's a laid back song but has a steady driving beat that helps him get in the mindset to tear up opposing defenses. Kendrick Lamar - HUMBLE. Right winger Michael Fischer enjoys listening to this song before games in order to remind of of where he came from. He thinks it's important that players stay humble and keep their nose to the grindstone so that they can give their teams their all on and off the ice. ![]() Registered S27, S29 Challenge Cup Champion ![]() Let It Happen - A fantastic pre-game rock song that we blast in the locker room to really get the boys going. For Whom The Bell Tolls - Our pre-game warmup song and my personal favourite Metallica song. Another song designed to pump up the team and make sure we're ready to go for puck drop. KARATE - We come out to this song after 1st intermission. You may be asking why this song is included on our playlist. Well, that's the idea. By the time the other team has a clue what kind of music was blasting into their ears we've likely already scored. Science/Visions - My personal inclusion to the list. I play a lot of Chvrches on the rare occasion that I'm in control of the music, Chvrches has a lot of feel good songs great for practice days. Our Own House - A really upbeat pop song. Great for post game celebration after a hard fought win. ![]() ![]() ![]() "“HA HA! THIS GAME WILL NEVER END! I POSSESS THE SOUL OF EVERY GOALIE ON TEAM B!! CREW 4 LIFE!!
