There are so many great people in the Discord, both current players and Alumni. One named stood out to me instantly though!

Alumni <a href='index.php?showuser=2585' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-59'>Coach Biz</a> (Mike Izzy)!



In my opinion he is one of the coolest members of the SHL! I haven't got to know everyone yet but just based on his forum posts I love this guy!

His player is Mike Izzy #19 LW for the Calgary Dragons! The 6'0 230 pounder from Whitby Ontario plays a crucial role for a great SHL team in the Dragons. In the most recent playoffs Izzy and the Dragons went to game 6 of the Challenge Cup finals, ultimately losing to the Manhattan Rage. Izzy was #5th overall for penalty minutes in the playoffs and #10th in scoring for all Left Wingers (he shoots Right and plays RW on the 2nd PP unit). Dude plays almost 19 minutes a night for a strong team so it's easy to see he knows what's up on the ice.

But I always noticed he made an effort to post in the SMJHL media section. Sometimes people are lucky to get 1-2 comments so it's nice that he takes time to come in there and spread some love. Not only that but he makes tons of great and funny content all over the site and is really active.

I reached out to him on discord to see if he could answer these questions and he basically told me to go fuck myself. Yeah that's not what happened! He of course said he do it right away and he was just really nice to chat to! I am really happy he is on the Knights alumni and I hope to reach out to get to know some more people better!

If you got to pick 1 member of the SHL to spend a week in Maui with who would it be?



Afternoon Mr Mack, always a pleasure sir...

To be honest with ya im not a man of tropic endeavours so Maui would not be first on my list for an SHL assembly.... but i can definitely think of a bunch in here that id love to go bar hopping with. Esa, Kortesi and Danga would be a great night out of boozing and mischief! (baring TDZ pays for the bill) a round of shots and good SHL chat among Fin Kruger, Louie Garrett, Robby Phelps, Angelo O, and Sophia Bennett (which are the top 6 in my SHL draft class and people i like on the site) would be lots of fun! An Alumni Kelowna get together would be awesome!.. which could include EJ, Jenny, Langabeer, Leafer Reilly, Brother Nour and Alex Light. (along with Clint Eastwood baring he could sneak in or get in with a fake ID)... Id love to enjoy a bong session with Toe-Dragon, Slappy and Bonk as well.. that would probably end with some great laughs, good eats and suspicious scenarios.

What's the last movie that brought a tear to your eye?

hmmm... i watched a netflix 13 episode series called 13 reasons why... episode 13 was tough television to watch. and on a SHL note.. Kelowna losing to Detroit on the final day of the season in S36 to kick us out of the playoffs and end my SMJHL career was rough .. i opened the box score and saw an Izzy line of 0-0-0-0-0-21:30 .... i knew i let my LR mates down with that stinker.

What is your players best feature in your eyes?

By feature if you mean the way he plays... then it's easily his ability to lay the wood... Izzy is an ice-cold hitter that makes no apologies about his abrasive behavior on the ice. he walks out there and looks to cause grief, no matter who its against. BUT.. if you're talking feature as in physical feature... id say Izzys machismo (if that is a feature) there's a swagger about the way Wilson, Coach_B and Izzy does there bizness, one does his thing on the ice, the other 2 on the virtual... it's a tri-fecta of cohesiveness.. if you will.
