For mine I asked St. Louis' captain <a href='index.php?showuser=2895' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-17'>caltroit_red_flames</a> some questions.

1. You were drafted 4th overall to the Blizzards, did you see that ever happening?
It's pretty hard to put that into a small number of words. Coming into the SMJHL, you have no idea where you're going to go. You join the draft and start talking with people and earning your TPE and it's hard to separate yourself from the pack. Then you have people saying "Hey we're looking to take you pretty high, talk to us about these things so we can get to know you/" The whole process is very streamlined. Then you come to the SHL where you've had time to separate yourself from other players and you have a general idea of what the 1st round is going to look like. For a while I didn't have many people contacting me, but as picks were traded, more people starting messaging me. By the time draft day arrived it was pretty obvious who would be drafting me. So did I see all of that coming out of the gate when I first joined the league? No, not at all. Things were new and crazy and exciting. But did know which jersey I was going to be wearing on draft day when I was waiting patiently in crowd for my name to be called? Yeah, and I couldn't be happier with the team that chose me. What a stellar organization the Blizzard have. I'm happy to be a part of it.

2. You were recently announced as the captain of St. Louis, thoughts on that?
This was an incredible surprise. I honestly didn't think I deserved it at first. Guys like The Dude, Dermot Lavell and Logan Jensen are still around. But after the announcement my teammates were congratulating me saying "you deserve it man!" and that really made me feel like I could be a captain that would fill The Dude's skates. Svatoslav Bodnar and The Dude are the guys who really shaped me into a leader, so I have them to thank for this really. I'm looking to make them and the rest of the team proud.

3. Also recently you helped spear-headed the revival of the WJC as well as simming it. Did you learn anything during that process?
If I had two words to describe that, they would be "learning experience". Even with the help of three IIHF Commissioners so many things happened that were bumps in the road along the way to making this happen. Players were disgruntled by team names and the countries that were put together to form those teams. STHS was ruining our vision for a condensed roster. We figured out how to make it work, and the tournament ended in a great success, but this was a learning experience. I'm much more comfortable with creating schedules, picking GMs and simming with STHS. Beyond that though, I had an incredible amount of help from <a href='index.php?showuser=2805' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-17'>Dude</a> and the IIHF Commissioners. They deserve as much thanks as I have received.
