Reflection on your season - how did your player fare on the ice this season? Did you meet or surpass your individual player goals or did you come up short? Whether you excelled or disappointed - what can you attribute that to? What will you try to do better next season?

Last season was a very big disappointment for Kaspars Claude. The easiest tell I had was comparing the amount of milestone points this season compared to last season. This season I was able to collect the max of 4 and last season I was only able to collect 1 or 2 tpe from the milestones. Also, Kaspars Claude is currently leading the playoffs in points from a defenseman and has done nothing but be a surprise for how dominant he can be. It came out of nowhere, he was not a point per game player during the regular season. Kaspars is also averaging the 3rd highest Game Rating and the 6th highest Defensive Game Rating in the playoffs. Not to mention, he has a game rating average of 76 and the next best player on the Specters is only at 69 and that is Lil Manius, who is leading the playoffs in points. Seems as though Kaspars has really stepped into his own and has become a dominant Defenseman that people thought he would become when he was drafted 1st overall all the way back in Season 48.
Playing with someone like Lyle Odelein helps so much for production in Kaspars game. Whether it is the offensive zone or the defensive zone, the pairing works so well together just because of the chemistry and the complimentary play styles. Lyle is a little more two way focused whereas Kaspars is more of an offensive defenseman. Even at that, they have their heads up and look for eachother when they are on the ice. The friendship they have makes it a lot better on the ice, as they are more willing to share the puck rather than keep it for themselves.

It has been publicized a decent amount on this site but Hamilton prospect Andrei Kostitsyn's brother Sergei appears to be missing. Does anybody know where Sergei? What have you done/what can you do to help Andrei track down his brother?

Damn, sucks to be Hamilton because that is not a situation you want to be dealing with when you are in the finals of the playoffs. But from what I hear, in order to find Sergei, you need to do 2 different things. Maybe doing both at the same time will help, but let me just state them at first.
The first thing I would do is get a bunch of bottle of vodka and start an easter egg hunt around the city. I have heard from many people in the Hamilton association that Sergei is a die hard vodka fan and loves it straight on the rocks. If we leave some geo locations for people to go and find them, but we only send the locations to Sergei. We will be able to know when he finds them and what his route would be from one bottle to the other.
The second idea is forget about backchecking on the ice. If you tell him that you only have to play offense, he will come to practice right away and forget about the social distancing rules. If you mention defense, he might not show up or back check to the arena. How much checking does his player even have in FHM? I am guessing not a lot.

S54 IIHF Predictions - with one FHM IIHF season under our belt, we've got a bit more of a sense of how the tournament might play out in the new sim engine. What are your predictions for the S54 IIHF or WJC tournament - how do you think your team will fare this season? Who do you think are the biggest contenders to take home the hardware and why?

If FHM has taught me one thing, is that the good teams stay good and the bad teams stay bad. It is very tough to get out of the rut and really have any surprises. STHS and Simon were a little bit more sporadic with their results and was tougher to say who would win. Canada is my vote again for winning the tournament, I always go with them. They have such a deep roster and will always be able to replace their top players with young guns going in. Their organization and lockerroom have always been very active with the tournament and that helps the team compete at higher levels when everyone is on the same page.
For Latvia, well we are always the dark horse going into the tournament. Boris Poroshenko has put in a decent amount of work for us to be a little bit more competitive every year and our top players are coming into their prime while our legends are still at the stage where they can be seriously effective on our roster. Last season, goaltending hurt us more than any other team in my honest opinion and having another season of growth, Mike Hroch should be effective and more of a game changer in this seasons IIHF.

Which player from the Steelhawks or Specters has a great chance to make the Hall of Fame when their playing days are up? Make the case for that player's HOF bid.

I dont know too much about the SHL pre-Season 46ish so I do not know the type of impact players like Tig Murphy had or JoeK had. But, for the seasons that I have been active and for what I have seen with my own eyes, Flacko Lagerfield will end up having his name retired in the rafters and will make the Hall of Fame with the other greats that played in the Simulation Hockey League. Always at the top of the stats leaderboard and having many awards under his belt, it is hard to pass up on a player with that much of a presence in the league awards and stat leaderboards. There is a reason he has still been able to be effective and be a Season 41, fighting regression and also playing with another great like Robert Phelps.

Occasionally, broadcast networks will bring an active player into the TV coverage of ongoing finals if their team has been eliminated, and that player is often to give unique insights from a current player's perspective. During this NOLA-HAM finals, which SHL player or prospect would be a good addition to the Challenge Cup TV coverage? Why would that player be a good addition to the broadcast team?

Looking around the league, it would be very tough to just single out one player to come out and help the coverage of the SHL TV. Personally, it would be tough for me to accept the position to cover the finals if I was eliminted this season by one of these teams or even any team for that manner. It would hurt me to be at the games and not on the ice, so I would look at the teams that unfortunately did not make the playoffs but were able to be apart of the draft lottery that just happened. Someone that has been around the league long enough like Liam O'Callahan would have great knowledge of the game and also great knowledge of the players. He would have some stories of various players that he played against or even played with if they are in the same nation or past team. He has been in situations like this before so he would have some relation to the situation that these teams are in aswell as understanding the pressure or the cost that one mistake in this game can cause the team, the city and the organization. Being someone who can get into someone elses shoes or even someone elses skates is always a great member to have in broadcast. And not to forget, that some people at home who do not understand the sport or have been following the SHL for a while will get a great idea and true understanding of the sport and the importance.
