Where's the hate button? Buffalo and Manhattan are not in the South. Conference names make no sense and plus, it's fine as is. Only way I see doing something like this is keeping the current conferences and splitting them in two.
Your wish is my command. Check the updated OP.

Not a fan at all. We have limited teams and I am guessing it would happen where one division winner really shouldn't be in the playoffs it's similar to how the west teams are currently Stronger than the east and the west teams that miss would have a good shot in the east. It used to be the opposite but I would rathe not have fours cases of this with the limited amount of teams we have.

I like this idea. It makes games against your division more important than they are now. Also paves the way to let new rivalries develop within each division.

What if we did it so that each division winner makes the playoffs as #1 and #2 in the conference for sure then the other 4 teams in the conference battle for the last two spots? And we keep the current playoff format then?

I have no problem with the Conferences right now. I see no reason why a re-alignment is needed.

While I like the idea, why not just keep it the way it is, and move Texas to the West and Buffalo to the East? Keeps it a whole lot more simple.

Fair enough, I just wanted to throw a suggestion out there at some point and I thought it would be a nice one and it would provide a nice shake up.
