Quote:Originally posted by Steelhead77@Dec 1 2016, 04:53 PM So this means just 2 rivalry games a season right? Against 1 team from the opposite conference? That's fine.
And no other rivalry games, correct?
Yeah, just 2 games. I'll let JY mess with how much the rivalry setting affects the sims if he'd like, or keep it the same as before.
But this way it doesn't impact the season too much, and everybody will be on a fair playing ground.

The one thing I'm a bit nervous about is the elections being more a popularity contest than a true vote of confidence in leadership and judgement ability.
Quote:Originally posted by Bojo@Dec 1 2016, 11:09 PM The rivals determined by playoff results, similar to how draft positions work. just split the draft order by conference, line them up 1 by 1 with each other, and that would be how the rivals are determined.
It's simpler than I can explain, I promise. )
Thanks so far, guys. Continue with ideas and stuff
So the rivalries for S32 will be: vs vs vs vs vs vs :admirals: vs
Correct?
Thank you all for the amazing sigs & player cards Â

I agree with this if it's just a general "election".
If we pick one user from each team, it can just be a team vote based on interest.

Election rules tbd. I thinking you can only vote in your own conference to help limit that a little. Either way it's a popularity contest to some degree. Still workshopping. Open to suggestions.

- Open a poll in every LR for the other members of the conference eligible to be voted in. Have it open for 1 week. Tally votes from there. Kind of double blind voting, so SEA would be able to vote on members from CGY, EDM, LAP, POR, TEX, and WPG.
- Each team gets 3 members to nominate for a total of 18 choices for the other 6 teams (excluding their own team's 3).
Eliminates team bias/popularity voting, still a bit of a popularity contest but this way one team can't rig it. Have a similar process for SMJHL, must be playing most of your season in SMJHL to be eligible to be nominated.

I was thinking simplifying it more to just two public voting threads for each conference. you write in who you want to vote for.
and maybe not allowing a vote for someone on your own team.

Also, can't stress this enough: means I'll probs never be in HO )
Speaking of changing *everything*, can we add Injuries back to the league? According to sarmo, it's the shit and gave the league interest back in the day. If we're here to promote activity, it is a double-edged sword, but he brings up a good point, something like however many games you sit out correlates to TPE you get free into Durability (3 games out -> 6 TPE, something like that). IIRC, there's a way to keep injuries from being season-long or something, would have to get clarification on that from JayWhy and FourFour or anyone else with the sim (might ask Jardy on the VHL too). Gives depth players a chance to come in and play.
