Different situation though Joe wanted too much money, and they'd rather build the team around Bergeron. I was a huge Thornton fan though.

I hope he is moved so the annoying Kessel / Seguin debates can finally rest.

do you remember the team Julien took over?
the team that Dave Lewis coached the year before?
the 1st year Julien got here, he took that team that was predicted by many to finish last in the Eastern Conference to the playoffs and brought the 1 seeded Habs to 7 games.
the 2nd year we led the Eastern Conference in goals....2nd in the NHL
then we lost Kessel and Savard and never really replaced that offensive firepower.
the thought that Claude "cant coach offense" is just factually incorrect.
sure he is a defense-first coach, but the Bruins have been, for the majority, a pretty good offensive team with him as coach.
and its not like we have big time offensive talent...but the 1 year that we did, like i said, 1st in east, 2nd in NHL in goals

im sure if we lost to the Leafs in the 1st round there was a good chance Neely would have fired him and moved on.
beating the Pens in the ECF solidified his job.
