With the regular season coming to the end in a couple of days, let's take a look at the draftees and waiver pickup the Nevada Battleborn got before the season, just to see if the team's pickups were successful in their rookie season or not.

For the Battleborn's first pick, they got goalie Luka Nogoalov. In his first full-time season, so far, it has been a rollercoaster of a season. With a 17-20 record, and a 0.895 save percentage and a goalie rating of 67, Nogoalov has shown that while he might not be exactly a key asset for the Battleborn, he's not a detriment either. But as has been shown, goalies can be volatile, so it's hard to judge his future success.

Their second pick is offensive defenseman, Ace Lightning. For Lightning's rookie season he has 3 goals and 10 assists on the 2nd pairing. While the offensive performance is there yet, he has shown signs of improving lately and could be a key offensive threat in his sophomore season.

Third pick in the draft, they grabbed Skoomina Hulk a Votto III. Votto has 12 goals and 16 assists playing on the third line for his rookie season. Which is pretty impressive for his playing time, 2nd least on the team. However his work ethic has been a little but of a questionable mark so far this season, and if he can't improve on it, then this might just be his peak.

For their fourth pick, they selected Kai Scott. They're the lowest scoring skater on the Battleborn, getting 4 goals and 7 assists, on the bottom pairing. And so far hasn't shown to be a key piece for the Battleborn in the future, and might not be seeing time on the next season, depending how the Battleborn's off-season goes.

With their penultimate pick, they were able to get Darius Garland, who on the 2nd line has 8 goals and 16 assists on the season. Not a good season for them, as their fellow draftee and left winger, Votto, has more points in less minutes played on the season.

And with their last pick they selected Derek Fitz. Who is manning the right wing on the 2nd line, where has amassed a total of 14 goals and 18, leading all of the Battleborn rookie skates in goals, assists and points, and 4th in goals and points for all Battleborn, despite playing less minutes than some.

Outside the draft, the Battleborn also picked up in trade, of a waiver pickup, Alekss Ivanova, who has shown to be good pickup for the Battleborn for both this season and future season. As he has 10 goals and 17 assists, putting him besides his linemate Fitz, for 2nd in rookie scoring Nevada. And if he can continue keeping up his work ethics the future looks bright for the Battleborn, especially once Piastri moves up to the SHL.

So in the while the draft could have been a lot better for the Battleborn, it has been a decent return, helped out with the pickup of Ivanova. And might show that the Battleborn can make the finals again soon.
