S71 PT#3: Hangups and Hangovers

Absolutely in bed by 9:30. Those parties can wait until the off-season. We might have beaten the arch rivals this game, but we have to get back and ready for the next game so that we aren’t surprised. It’s easy to get the win and then think about taking some time off for personal enjoyment. And that is fine, to a degree. Have a candy bar and read an exciting new book. Don’t hurt yourself trying to impress all the people at the party by doing keg stands until late in the morning. We are professional athletes with a lot invested into us. We have to do our part and stay game ready. I don’t want the players getting too soft from all the cokes and sprites at the parties. Hit the gym and prepare yourself for the next game. Talk to your family or friends, and get things ready. I would definitely take the 9:30 in bed over the rager.

N'Zola has never been the type of person to be the last person at the bar when its closing time, but there are some exceptions he does break his character and goes just absolute bananas. Winning against the local rival in Yukon is absolutely one of those, especially if it is a shutout or a blowout victory, then we can have a proper celebration. Georg would be interacting with fans, buying them shots after shots after shots to keep the momentum going. The same cannot be said about some of his teammates who can be a little prickly from time to time, even if it was after a big win over the local rivals. Especially Tony Soprano, who you would think likes to hang out with people after a big win, but is the exact opposite of it. Tony is the type of person to go to bed like 2 hours after the game max. He likes his sleep, and rest, and is probably one of the reasons why he is outscoring everyone in Anchorage KEKW

CREATIVE PROMPT / STORY MODE

So it has come to this. Lowest bidder. Zoning restrictions. Duncan Mackenzie was never one to shy away from a fight and that is what he is going to do. The first stop is to visit the councilman at his home for a one on one discussion about what can be done to change the zoning of the area where construction of the arena is due to start. After having said discussion, Duncan is sure that the councilman will see his point of view and be more than willing to stop lying through his teeth about the restrictions. Secondly, when it comes to the construction firm, there are many legal options to explore first. Hopefully the owner was smart enough to put time and quality based milestones in the contract that if the contractor missed, it could be used to break the contract and go with a different firm. If not, maybe a similar approach is required to the councilman.

If it all goes poorly and DMack is stuck at the local Calgary College, he would not fear or complain. He would show the younger guys on the team what professionalism means.

Of course Dusty Rhodes will be at the club. At the end of the day it's really all about the fans. They need to see their heroes as regular human beings who like to have a good time just like them. And Dusty really loves to party and he's been known to foot the bill on numerous occasions for just these types of celebrations. Of course since it's the owner's club Dusty figures this into his contract negotiations so he basically is getting the owner to buy the fans a good time. And that's why Dusty is a beloved figure in New Orleans. He's literally just a common man who happens to be able to play a sport for a living. And the fans definitely relate to this. And that's why Dusty will never pass up an opportunity to hang out with the every man and pound down some suds with them.

While it is a shame that the new arena will not be ready in time for next season. I do look forward to playing in a smaller arena with a much more intimate atmosphere. It is not every day you can skate around the rink and see every single fan closer then usual. Plus, this is going to give the fans a chance to be closer to the ice then ever before. The compact arena only has a press box which should be able to host radio and TV personalities. Though, I believe the team can donate a bit of money to the arena to help bring it up to SHL standards, I would not be surprised if the smaller barn catches on elsewhere. Can you imagine if every team played a few games out of the season at at College barn? I think it would be great. Hopefully the management handles the situation correctly and allows as to have an awesome experience.

Julian Flörsch ill just have to rip it up in front of a significantly smaller home crowd for the few months until our own stadium is back in business again. There's always some risk with doing contruction work that cuts it close to, or even runs into, the season start, and we should be happy the local college team is kind enough to let us use their arena for games and practices. We can blame the government, or the team owners, as much as we want, but in the end we all wanted this bigger and better stadium. Julian is confident the end result will more than make up for the temporary inconvenience of having to use a smaller arena for a few months. We'll just have to find a way to reward the fans who stick with us, and make it worth their wait when we eventually return to the Monarchs Castle.

It is an absolute nightmare. The Chicago Syndicate, a majorly successful hockey franchise playing in one of the sports’ largest, not to mention most passionate markets, are homeless. Hard times have hit the Mad House on Madison, and the Syndicate are looking to move. Unfortunately, due to the bad actions of a curmudgeonly city councilor who hates hockey (he only cares about Da Bears), and the ineptitude of the Syndicate’s owner, the progress on replacing the club’s arena has been slow, if you could even say that much. Indeed, work has ground to a halt. The Syndicate will now play in a local college stadium, which seats only 5,000 people – a truly unheard of proposition for a professional hockey outfit. Tummy Hurts is unphased, however. He has played in front of far fewer people – and besides, he’s too busy worrying about the latest rumblings in his gut to even notice how many people the team brings in. All that matters is the play on the ice and the food in his tummy. Maybe giving that city councilor a similar tummy ache could turn things around, though…

Something happened on the day he died. Spirit rose a metre and stepped aside.
Somebody else took his place, and bravely cried. I’m a blackstar, I’m a blackstar.

Player Prompt:

Bobby is a big proponent of enjoying the little things, and a huge victory of an arch-rival is definitely above that category. You earn the right to celebrate as crazy as you want to on nights like these, but also you can celebrate how you want to. Bobby would 100% be at the club, leading the celebrations, but his celebrating would only be at about an 80-90%, because as amazing as beating your arch-rivals are, there is something you have to save the 100% celebration for, and that is the Challenge Cup. Bobby knows that Hamilton has a storied history and if he wants his name down in the annals of great players from seasons past, he has towin that cup, and then he will celebrate like there is no tomorrow, then when tomorrow happens, continue to celebrate like there is no tomorrow, and after the week-long Challenge CUp bender, then he will be satisfied with taking a day or two in recovery, hooked up to an IV.

Prompt 2:

The Nevada Battleborn just slapped the absolute pattooty out of the Newfoundland Berserkers when they came to town to visit, and now it’s time to party! At least, for many of our younger players, a night on the town during such a successful season may not be the worst idea, but just remember, we have a championship to win. Ace Lightning won’t be joining them, as the game just happened to be on a Saturday night, and Saturday nights is when Ace volunteers his time at the local old person house. He heads over there in his full gear and reads stories to them, cooks them meals, and just hangs out. His favourite thing to do is watch reality TV shows with the seniors, and this week they just happened to be watching one of his favourites - Below Deck. Once that is over and the seniors all go to bed, Ace will politely text his team captain and ask how their night went.
