Congratulations on being drafted! The hard work starts now but first you need to get settled in new city, while your teammates are all ready to get to know you!
Written Option: Write about your player’s experience after being drafted. How do they settle in the city? Who helps them to get started, someone from the team or maybe someone coming with them from home? What happens when they arrive to arena for the first time to check the lockerroom and how do their new teammates respond? Did they organize anything to welcome your player and the other draftees to the team? Who are those other draftees? Must include at least 150 words. Graphic Option: Create an image depicting a couple of members of your team hanging out together in the locker room. Must include the team logo somewhere. You will receive 3 TPE for fulfilling all the requirements for any of the options. The draft is always an exciting time for any rookie, but it was an especially chaotic one for Melvin de Pengu Soderberg-Snooks. He very unexpectedly went first in the draft and was now destined to be shipped off to some place called Yukon. He'd never really been outside of Sweden, so he wasn't sure what to expect. It turns out he should have never been so nervous because Yukon is almost exactly like home. As Melvin flew in, he noticed that the landscape looked cold and barren with small town and villages dotted around. It truly felt like home just from a glance and was made more so as he arrived to the arena. His new GMs were quick to make him feel welcome and showed him around the place he was now going to call home. Sure, he was given an apartment outside of the city, but he had a feeling he would be spending most of his time here. He'd always been a little obsessed with skating and hockey and now he could do it whenever he wanted thanks to the multiple practice rinks at the development facility attached to the arena. All Melvin could do is stare on wonder because he knew he had finally found a true home, not just the place he had been found in as an egg.

The draft experience was kind of unsuspecting. The days leading up to the draft I had a number of teams reach out. Some I enjoyed chatting with more than others. I really did not have a good sense on where I was going to end up going in the draft. Draft day came and I was still unsure of where I would end up. Eventually I would go to Anchorage which is funny because I accidentally ghosted the GM mid draft interview but he took a chance on me anyways. Since being drafted to the team I’ve met my goalie partner and have spent some time getting to know him. He’s only going into his second season but has done well with his training and had a great rookie season with the team. I am looking forward to getting to work with him and to help the Armada become a consistent force over the next few seasons.

Luka got drafted to Anchorage. Not very surprising considering that he was in very fond relations with Georg N'Zola, who acted as an advisor for the Armada for quite some time and made Luka Lilja a name to remember for the Anchorage squad. Some experts day Carolina would have been a better home for him to honor his father, but thats how the cookie crumbles sometimes.
The overall process of adjusting to the atmosphere of the new regiments and the team as a whole had been very natural. The staff there in Anchorage have been very professional and humane, the type that Luka really appreciates. On top of being able to get son of Lilja, Armada were able to draft another son of Red Kirkby, Rocko Kirkby. Reginald (or Reg) Kirkby was also an Armada player for a while before suffering a career ending ACL rupture which left his knee in a very horrible condition, the type that quits careers, as was case with Reg.. sad ![]() ![]() ![]() Registered Member
It’s funny how being in an entirely different city in an entirely different country can change your perspective on a situation. Just a few weeks ago Roi DuPain was a man with no path and now he’s on a journey with a group, no a team, of people all with one shared goal. Winning. As he walked into the locker room he was greeted with a cacophony of SKREEEE and at that instant, he knew that where he was, was where he needed to be. The room was cozy, had some twigs and feathers laying around which at first he found a bit weird but when you have a nest, you want it to feel like home. The first person to greet Roi was King, who had scouted him and knew his goals and ensured that both aligned. Roi also saw some other characters that he's met around in different circles and was excited to fight for a trophy with these people.

My triumphant welcome was very chill, very elegant as all such occasions should be. My illustrious gm had moreover for tea, and they explained what their expectations were. Turns out rookies have to wash the gm’s car and do his laundry. I can do that. I’m a team player. Also had to walk their dog. That’s fine, I like dogs.
I get to the arena and my equipment is a few sizes too small. That’s okay. Accidents happen. We are all human (I think). I go to correct the issue and a truth bomb is dropped—they wanted to draft someone else and accidentally drafted me. The gm thought I was the new intern and not a very sought after prospect. On the plus side the organization is sending me to the zoo to make up for the mishap, so I think I am the real winner in all of this. Who doesn’t like the San Diego Zoo? It’s world famous! Criticals past week or so had been super stressful but super exciting leading up to the draft. I had a very open mind going into this draft, with such a vast pool of real good players, people. I felt good leading up to the draft, having a total of 12 teams reach out to me. For me that felt great, i felt like i was accomplishing something. I enjoyed talking with each and every team that reached out, some i spoke with a lot longer than others. I did not have much indication or clue of where i possibly may get drafted to. I had some guesses...
When the time finally came for the draft, shockingly to me, i did not have to wait very long. I was drafted at 18th overall 2nd rd 2nd pick, to the Detroit Falcons and i am very excited and eager to prove that i was worth the pick! CapnCooper(Thurston_Bull) was very friendly in our scouting interview and really enjoyed talking to him and becoming friends, so when i got drafted there it was genuine excitement and happiness. When i first entered the locker room everybody was super welcoming and friendly. I see myself having a lot of fun and will work as hard as i can to contribute to my team, and our success and ultimate goal of winning! ![]() ![]() Registered Member
Stanislaw eagerly awaited his name to be called at the draft and when he was selected by the Falcons he was overjoyed. He heard alot of nice things about Michigan and the city of Detroit in particular, but was a bit anxious about flying overseas for the first time ever, being a native of Prague, Czechia. Stanislaw asked his twin brother Igor to join him for his journey to America, as they are attached at the hip so to speak. Upon their arrival, they immediately felt overwhelmed at the culture shock he was experiencing. With minimal issue they found their way to the arena and confirmed their identity to gain access into the team facilities. Stanislaw entered the locker room and had to duck to clear the doorway, looking around at his new teammates he was all smiles as they greeted him with a loud SKREEEE! Stanislaw quickly became comfortable with his new teammates and began talking their ears off, about anything and everything. This was where he belonged. His journey to the SHL had begun.

PDO Merchant was eagerly anticipating to hear his name called for the S83 draft, but as a late registrant he was not contacted by many names. However, one team stood out for him above the rest. After a great and productive conversation with the two Raptors fellas and hearing from his long time friend and noted Raptors bust at 56th overall Max Manning, the Colorado Raptors were the team for him. And that night, sitting on his couch, he heard the words: "With the 22nd pick in the Simulation Major Junior Hockey League, the Colorado Raptors selected PDO Merchant." Music to his ears. Few days later, as he flew out to meet his teammates for the first time, he ran into a coach. Coach @micool132 waved on by as he walked in. PDO Merchant immediately knew that THIS was a man fit to win the cup. And of course GMs Jumbo and Fishy were there to say hi as well. Go rappers

If it wasn’t for the fact that seemingly everyone here spoke French, it wouldn’t even have been that bad for Yu. The city was nice, the food was good and the weather was also something he enjoyed. The hunt for an apartment or any place to live in was going to be rough, that much Nishinoya knew but at least he had some time to figure all that out. The hotel room would have to be enough for the moment. On the same day he had arrived, Yu made sure to go check out the team’s training facilities. It was nothing short of impressive for the Japanese defender. Only having played in a sport club back in high school, he definitely wasn’t used to seeing something so professional. It didn’t take long to bring a wide grin over his face as he looked forward to all the time he would spend in here, no matter if it was going to be on his own or if he was training together with his teammates. After all he still had loads and loads to learn and Yu was going to soak up as much knowledge from those defenders already on the team as he could. So he could one day become the best version of himself and help Quebec win it all.

Luis' first few days were filled with travel after hearing his name called while he was overseas with his parents. He couldn't contain his excitement and jumped on the first flight over to Carolina as soon as he could. He was quickly welcomed by many of the players and coaching staff as he walked into the locker room along with a couple of the other rookies along with him. He hopes to learn a lot from players like Kim Chaewon, who was the first to meet and greet him, and continue the legacy that they have built for this reputable franchise. The first night we all went out to the town and was able to sit down and talk about our plans for the season and the rookies all introduced themselves to their new team. I'm hoping I get to be linemates with a player like James Beauregard and show that we can be a lethal rookie duo.

Joe Schmoe spent a lot of time on planes growing up, but never on a flight as long in one shot as the fourteen hours it took to get from Tokyo to Vegas. After stretching his legs a bit and losing ten bucks on the airport slot machine(it seemed like the thing to do), he hopped in a taxi to his new, team-provided apartment. Claude L’Castor, Battleborn goalie and captain, was the first new teammate to reach out with a welcome helping hand in the unpacking process. Joe joined with the other newbies, Becky Fromm, Valter Forsberg, and Roy Deez Rivers in the locker room for introductions and an arena tour from GM and former American president JFK, who was certainly a shock to Joe’s eyes. When Joe asked if the Battleborn practiced necromancy in the tunnels beneath Sin City, Claude shook his head and said, “Look, don’t ask too many questions, okay? You probably won’t like the answers.”
