Dick Clapper was a first generation player who joined the league all the way back in Season 46. At the time he had strategically missed the SMJHL draft and as a result was allowed to sign with the Kelowna Knights to play alongside his friend. He saw a decent amount of success in his first season, even being nominated for the Ron Bolt, but the team unfortunately was knocked out at the hands of the St Louis Scarecrows. After publicly announcing that he would only play alongside fellow Knight, Guy Zheng @goldenglutes, he tanked his draft stock and was taken 37th overall, all the way in the third round by the New England Wolfpack (who took Zheng with a first but couldnt take me with a first even tho they had 3??). Despite pressure to come up to the big league as a natural rookie, Clapper and Zheng decided to spend one more year in the minors to push a surging juniors team all the way. Unfortunately the team fell short, losing in game 7 in the finals, once again to the St Louis Scarecrows.

Once called up, Clapper had an immediate impact on the Wolfpack, making his way up the lineup as those above him either started to regress, or started to go missing. In S49 New England won the presidents trophy and made it all the way to the finals before unfortunately losing to the Edmonton Blizzard. That offseason the team traded our MVP goalie for Benjamin Blue and hoped to run it back even stronger. Four seasons later in S53 we once again won the President's Trophy, this time losing to the no passing Hamilton Steelhawks. After that loss and a struggle to see a future in New England, Clapper and Zheng together made the decision that they were going to test free agency once they could, and ultimately were traded together to Hamilton in a blockbuster trade for 4 firsts in exchange for them, who were both nearing the 2k TPE mark. Only one season after the trade, Hamilton ended up winning the Challenge Cup, with Clapper being nominated for the Razov. They were lucky enough to run it back, however in S57 they lost in the finals to Chicago, with Clapper once again being nominated for the Razov (and once again not winning it).

Post back to back finals, Clapper started to lose his passion for the game and in his mind had decided not to re-sign, and as a result was traded back to New England in exchange for @bluesfan55. From there, he was flipped at the deadline to Buffalo, who made a strong cup run, but once again he lost in the finals (for those keeping score at home, pretty sure I'm 1-4 in the finals which is fun). After losing with Buffalo, he signed with the recently created Atlanta Inferno, which was not a surprise for a single person, and played there for a number of seasons before exploring FA and playing for another 10 seasons with Hamilton, Toronto, and the final year in Montreal.

And then I got in the Hall of Fame because I played 29 seasons and finished 3rd in all time points!
