James Blaine Signs With... The wait is over
#1

Today marked the first day SHL GM's were able to negotiate with S15 Free Agents. With big names like David Winter, Josef Heiss, Ivo Willems, and more, some people may have overlooked James Blaine, but not SHL GM's. It has been reported that Blaine was approached with 5+ offers, and some of which included a "name your price" option. With so many offers, it takes time to decide which place is ideal for a player about to enter his prime. James Blaine is set to make his announcement any moment now, and... yes it appears as though he is taking the podium to address the media.

"Hello everyone, and thank you for meeting with me today. The last 12 hours have been extremely hectic for both my agent, my family, and myself. While I was approached with many offers, I knew the handful of teams I really wanted to sign with. Luckily each team I had heavy amounts of interest in all approached to sign me. This is both an amazing feeling, but it also made it a lot harder to decide. Each and ever team that made a contract offer all have certain aspects that I really enjoy and value. This was an extremely tough choice, and I appreciate all the time and energy people put into contacting myself. With all of that being said I narrowed the list down to 4 team fairly quickly. Fourth and Third were both very close together.

Coming in fourth was the Winnipeg Jets. Winnipeg made a very good contract proposal, and it was followed up by messages from both the GM, as well as a member of the team. Both wrote very long and time consuming letters to me sharing what the team has to offer, as well as why it would be a good fit for me. I really appreciate this, and it was a very tough choice to not pick you guys. Leafs4Ever seems to be a great GM, and I have a lot of respect for him. Thank you for approaching me and offering me a contract. Best of luck to you guys

Third place was the Toronto North Stars. I had Toronto at third because they have 2 great GM's, as well as a great team. I really like the team you guys have, and I have a lot of respect for many members on your team, especially Krever. Again, this team approached me with multiple messages, as well as one very good sales pitch from Krever himself. It was hard to eliminate you from the running, as I feel Toronto is very strong. Krever even said it, you either love or hate Toronto, and I must say I really love Toronto. It was tough to scratch you off of the list. Thank you for your time and effort in contacting me.

Now for the main event! The final 2 teams are New England as well as Hamilton. Both teams are packed with members I like, they have very good teams, and I feel like I would be a great fit with both teams. I have spent a lot of time talking to members of both teams about signing with them, and I must say this is a extremely hard choice to make. Joe, Schultz, Gorlab, HFFO, and Rehn, I thank you all for messaging me today. Also I would like to thank JNH, Nike, and Ace for messaging me as well. Both teams have been very patient with me and willing to work with me to set up a contract that helps both parties.

As I said each team has its pros. I like a lot of the guys on New England. JNH, Ace, Nike, Fever, Ask, the list goes on and on and on. I thin New England would be a good fit for me, and I believe they have a good team. They are coming off a very successful season, and I believe they are one of the best teams in the East as well as the whole league.

Hamilton on the other hand has a whole team of people I like. I've really enjoyed my time in Hamilton so far, and I think they have a great team. We have had no problems so far, and I had a career season with them after being traded to them. I am so thankful to Joe for trading to acquire me for the second time in my career.

This has been a really interesting process to go through. For my first free agency, I must say that this was a little overwhelming. I think I received roughly 50 PM's and I cant believe so many people reached out to me today. It has been an amazing experience to be apart of. Both New England and Hamilton have made the best sales pitches, as well as have everything I was looking for. I wanted to win, and I feel that these 2 teams offer the best chance to win. I would especially like to thank Joe, Malcontent, Ace, and JNH for spending a lot of time talking to me about all of this.

Thank you to everyone who messaged me, and thank you to all the GM's who made me offers. I appreciate all the time you guys spent on me today. This has been an awesome experience.

I am very proud to announce that I will be signing a contract with.....

I would like to say that New England was extremely close to having me. Ace and JNH thank you for spending so much time talking to me today. I know I would've fit well with you guys, and I really enjoyed getting to talk to you. I really hope you guys have no hard feelings. Ace, you are an amazing GM, and I must say that you were very professional about everything. Nike and JNH, It meant a lot to have both of you reach out to me as well. I wish you guys the best of luck.

Ultimately what it came down to was Hamilton signing David Winter. I had made it known to Joe and Schultz that I wanted to play with OC, and that if he signed elsewhere I would greatly consider leaving to play with him. Another thing is that they signed Sto-Helit which makes their defense a whole lot stronger. I would say that if Winter or JSH went to New England things would be a lot different. Also another huge reason is that I owe Joe a lot, and I have an amazing amount of respect for him. Without Joe, I would have never figured out how exactly everything worked on SHL, and am positive I would have gone inactive. Joe took loads of time to make sure I understood it, as well as would always remind me about pt's and other things like that.

I am extremely excited to know that I will have more time in the locker room with guys like HFFO, Rehn, Cant LeBacon, Reimer, etc. Also, I am very excited to get to play with Winter and Sto-Helit. I can't wait to see how this team does, and I am proud to call myself a Steelhawk for S15 and S16.

Once again I would like to thank all the people who messaged me, and if I didn't answer your PM, I am sorry. I had so many PM's and it was hard to keep up with them while on my phone at school. I hope this leaves no hard feelings between any teams, GM's, or other players. Maxy, Ace, Tez, Wadey, Krever, Leafs, and Klose, thank you all so much for approaching me with offers. This was a really tough choice to make. I wish everyone the best of luck, now lets get this show on the road! May the best team win" Towel

I am now open for any questions you may have.

PS LV Kings get another 2nd round pick from my trade. I hope that helps them with their rebuild more Smile That was kind of the whole point why I asked them to trade me. It appears their rebuild is going successfully so far. Keep up the good work Klose

It's ok you can keep it has my autograph on it and I've even used it. It's a novelty item Smile

I got a mention in the article and it didn't remotely regard me as a cunt or a slut!

So, what you are saying is that if I were to take it to a pawn shop, I'd have to pay THEM to take it?

I'm sorry, did a fringe SHL player say something?

Must have been the wind Wink

Hamilton is much different then it's made out to be, you can basically ask anyone who has been here that used to have that misconception about us.

We may have guys like me who will argue with the league and other teams, but when it comes to our teammates, you simply will not find a better Locker Room on this league.
