A few days after the draft, I was called into the GM's office to, of course, speak about contract negotiations. The GM asked me what I was looking for, I told him specifically that I wanted a 3 year deal with a player option in my final year. Going over that now, it makes me seem pretty happy that he actually agreed to the terms that I wanted. He trusts that I will go ahead and stay in Texas for my 3rd year, and I will for sure, I look at Texas a new home I want to stay there for my whole career.



After more discussion on what this season means to the Renegades he asked me if I wanted to stay up in the SHL as a 3rd liner in my first year. I was shocked, I was expecting him to tell me that I will be sent down for the next season. I talked it over with him about the probability of me being sent down. I wanted to be sent down so I could go and give it another shot at the Four Star Cup. I exclaimed that being sent down would benefit my play more than staying up in the SHL. Besides after that great playoff final I will have some tough shoes to fill, that is why I thought I would need some more time in the SMJHL to prepare my self. He agreed with me but if I were to break out in the preseason and my point totals would sky rocket, that he would like me to stay up, I agreed and I was on my way out the door when I was stopped by some teammates.

They asked me if I wanted to go out and celebrate my contract signing, how they found out so fast was news to me. I agreed and we all went to Taco Bell. It was my first time eating fast food in like 23 months so it tasted pretty good. After the fast food we went and watched a movie, the new Grown ups 2 movie, it was pretty funny, great bonding moment for us as teammates and potentially friends.

After all that back home to my hotel in Texas to take a good nights sleep to get ready for the Team Training Camp. I was filled with such excitement I didn't know if I would fall asleep or not but soon as I lid down I just slipped of to the dream world.
