Some people in the updater team noticed a couple of recreate players attempting to claim TPE that was basically meant for their previous player. The ruling has always been you must only claim points for what your current player can earn, but there was never an official rule. As always HO has the right to review whether something not in the rulebook may be allowed.
HO quickly banged this out this morning just to make sure.
Points awarded to the previous player, before the new player was created, or that are unavailable to other incoming players may not be used for the recreated player.
Not a huge situation, but just one that needed a ruling on. Making it public in case of feedback before we make it official. Thanks

I think that wording encompasses all of the potential situations that could arise.
Also, I'm sure you're going to, but for the love of god put this in the rulebook once it's official. We don't need to go back to having rules scattered throughout the site.

I'd add the bolded bit, just to be sure that we're covering the situation that caused this (task done before recreation, claim posted after recreation).
The second bit of "unavailable to other incoming players" would cover that, but I'd like it to be especially clear.

No. It's specifically for new players to help them out.
I remember that in my draft class there was one of the deprolables who retired his player on, lets say, Monday, started to do PT's and training, AC on Thrusday, but created the new player on next Monday, but still tried to take the points for the last week although his new player was not made yet. Do not recall how that went, but there should also be a rule that you can start doing any PTE earnings only when your new player is made.
