The SHL draft is quickly approaching and with so many parties to attend its hard to select only a few people that I would like to see. There's so many amazing rookies that I would love to hang out with at these events that I don't know If i could name enough. My first pick would definitely be Cody Fletcher. We've been super close throughout the season and it would be awesome to just relax and have some fun instead of talking about hockey for a bit. I'd have to say the 4 main guys would be Nour Harrak, Oliver Konig, Clint Eastwood, and Dwayne Wyder though. I feel like the 5 of us together would probably wreck some bars. We'd definitely hit up a good pizza joint for Konig, he sure loves his pizza, and we'd need some good tacos for everyone. Who doesn't love tacos? Commies thats who. After Wyder takes us the hippest bars in town we'd show up to the event and be the life of the party. I mean who doesn't want to hang out with the main men themselves Nour and Clint. We'd then proceed to wreck shop and probably burn the whole event to the ground yet still go first round. It's just what we do.

**First GM in SMJHL history to win 3 Four Star Cups back-to-back-to-back**
#7

The SMJHL draft was a light-hearted event that was a ton of fun for everyone involved. We got drunk, we got ornery, and those of us that couldn't make the event live jumped in on Twitch/Discord to start chirping each other nonstop. The SMJHL is the nest where you learn to spread your wings, and this Falcon is thrilled with where he ended up.

That being said, the SHL draft is a bit more serious for Karl Hefeweizen. While there's no guarantee that you'll ever suit up in the sweater of the team that drafted you, there's a good chance that your SHL team will shape your career moving forward. Through my media and league activity I've had the pleasure of interacting with a lot of pro's, head office, and GM's/coaches in the SHL and have started to develop good relationships with a lot of them. Guys like <a href='index.php?showuser=2572' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-66'>DrunkenTeddy</a>, <a href='index.php?showuser=1322' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-13'>mpc</a>, <a href='index.php?showuser=2271' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-10'>Avakael</a>, <a href='index.php?showuser=1161' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>Plastic Bowl</a>, and others have really helped me get my bearings here.

Pre-draft I'll be focused on ensuring each and every SHL team gets to know me and I them. I was very much of the mindset with the SMJHL draft that I'd be able to find a home anywhere, knowing that it's likely temporary. The SHL draft has some further reaching consequences and thus I'll want to invest some time figuring out which teams I share a mutual vibe with. Then I'll get blitzed and get on Twitch/Discord.

It's the draft combine, and yours truly is looking forward to doing some bad shit. I plan on hanging out with many people, including Roman Augustus, Finn Jakobsen, Tigole Bitties, Teddy Cuddles, Cody Fletcher, Nour Harrak, and others. (Yes, I have too many friends.) I have plans to get pitch-piss drunk with the guys at a bar of their choice, cause they're the adults. (Some people seem to forget I'm 17.) Not only am I prepared to have a monster hangover, I'm also looking forward to the on-ice drills. It'll be like Michael Jordan's flu game on steroids. I'm looking forward to the shooting drills and the defense drills, as well as the puck handling. Those are my three strongest attributes right there, so I'm looking forward to showing them off to the GMs attending. I'm also gonna try and tap into my younger side. I don't mind holing up in a hotel room or the house I share with Finn and Roman playing video games into the wee hours, and I possibly will do that as well. Overall, I'm very much looking forward to the SMJHL Draft combine and to the draft in general to see where I will be taken.

With the SHL draft right around the corner there's tons of hype in th the air right now. “Who’s gonna first overall? Who's gonna be last?” questions everyone is asking but there's a bit of a different scene when it comes to the rookies going into the draft. Some players such as Evgueni Marmeladov have decided not to be as modest as maybe some should. Seen at other sport venues and celebrating like it's his last day. He's been seen all around town and getting tagged on instagram with drinks in hand and teammates in other. Some of his rookie teammates from Detroit who will be attending the draft have also appeared in some of his shenanigans. When asked about this he simply stated “Just blowing off some steam, it was a tough end of the season and pressure got to me, so just cooling down now”. It's understandable with how his last few games ended where he even got benched and yet concerning for his image. “He has been partying a lot, maybe more than he should but so far he hasn't gotten to any trouble and I’ve talked to him about staying away from it.” says Petr Wagner, Marmeladov's agent.

With the SMJHL fastly approaching and the SMJHL playoffs in full swing, it is the best time of the year for SMJHL prospects. Kelowna Knights defenseman Sami Owens is looking forward to draft weekend where he can see a couple old friends and teammates who he played with in the past and present. In general though,, Sami Owens is looking forward to catching up with fellow prospects Ben Turska of the Montreal Impact and Joe Lombardi of the St.Louis Scarecrows. The trio will meet at the local Tim Hortons for a lovely coffee the weekend of the draft. Lombardi also known as "bust" misses his lovely cup of Canadian Joe while Owens and Turska have the privileged of playing in Canada. The three will have lovely discussions from how their seasons went to their futures. The stress of the playoffs and the draft bring along a need to relax. That is what these three players will be doing over draft weekend. They will also plan to hit up the draft tailgate party as well as be in attendance dress nicely for the SHL Entry Draft Red Carpet. The trio is also set to sign autographs together for the fans at the arena.

I am really excited for the upcoming SHL draft. I’ve had some tremendous discussions with SHL personnel, and while I am eager to see where my future is, I am excited for the social aspect as well. My good friend Chippy Chiclets unfortunately ended up elsewhere in the SMJHL, but I think it’ll be awesome to be able to hang out with him and Odegard at the draft. I don’t think Odegard will be hanging out with us long, as he’s widely regarded as the #1 prospect just as he was in the SMJHL draft. Prince George Firebird Dionýz Vyskoč is another good dude that I get along with and it’ll be a good time catching up with him a bit.

It’ll also be a lot of fun to hang out with my Scarecrows teammates Joey Lombardi, Teddy Cuddles, Roman Augustus, Finn Jakobsen and Seth Paige. We’re all excited to come back next season and have bigger seasons, so this is an interesting time for us. I’m sure we’ll all have a few alcoholic beverages smuggled in our fancy tailored suits. We have some in the water bottles on the ice after all – Crossfit Jesus can’t play without a little vodka bottle action.

No matter what, it’s an exciting time in the SMJHL and Tigole Bitties certainly can’t get enough.
