Planning a charity game, eh? Let's do it, then.
Team 1: SMJHL Team Pink Center- Paddy Kane-Riley Obviously, you're gonna want to go with one of the top scorers and best overall players in the league for this one, no? This is gonna be a true all star game, since the SMJHL doesn't already have one. He combines all the traits needed to be a great scorer and two-way player in general, making him the perfect pick. Left Wing- Demaricus Smyth Another top scorer whom is a great two-way forward, Demaricus doesn't have as high of a point total as Kane-Rielly, but he is still a great scorer and an obvious pick for one of the top players in the league. He's earned this spot. Right Wing- Kyler Gill Kyler Gill is only tied for the points lead for RW. That's impressive, but to add to that, he's done it in 3 LESS GAMES than the other RW, Logan Jensen. Just absolutely bonkers, look for him to be an all-time great. Defenseman- Karsten Kadinger He's tied for the lead for Defenseman points, and he's truly earned his spot on this all-star squad. Defenseman- Thé Dude The guy who's tied with Karsten for Defenseman points, he's another great guy, and great defender who can add whatever the squad needs at any time. Goalie- Sebastian Primeau He doesn't lead the league in SV%, but he sure as hell does lead in GAA. Put him in there, coach! Team 2: SMJHL Team Purple Center- Lizzy Jukka Stuck in the shadow of Paddy, Jukka is a fairly underrated player, and shouldn't be taken lightly by anyone. He's earned the starting C spot on Team Purple. Left Wing- Wuma Duce Another underrated forward, and a great defensive one at that. Even though his defensive abilities are his most striking feature, he's still a great scoring forward, and is second in the league in points for LW. Right Wing- Logan Jensen Not to diminish Logan's accomplishments, this dude is tied for the RW points lead with 42. Even though he's done it in a few more games, he's still an absolutely great forward, and shouldn't be taken lightly by anyone. Defenseman- Brady McIntyre Another great defenseman, and holds the third spot for scoring for Defenseman. An underrated player, but there isn't much else to say about him. Defenseman- Eri Arai This girl, absolutely lighting up the league, and at one point leading Defenseman in points as a ROOKIE, she's absolutely insane. She has cooled off a bit recently, but still carries those ridiculous point totals. Goalie- Cédric Moreau The man whom leads the SMJHL in SV%, this dude is another ridiculously good Goalie, and I figure that his skills translate incredibly well into the SHL. ![]() SHL GM Professor of Baldeconomics
The SMJHL decided to piece together a rookies vs send-downs charity game in honour of many retired players who were diagnosed with MS, also known as multiple sclerosis, a degenerative disease that slowly takes away your ability to function regularly on a day to day basis.
For the send down squad, the team looked at marketability and class as a huge factor, which is why forward Logan Jensen did not receive an invite to this event. The entire top forward line came out of Prince George, surprisingly, but not entirely with how dominant they've been this season. Forward Kyler Gill has shot an impressive 15.57% this season leading to a whopping 42 points (18 goals, 24 assists). He's also an outstanding +24 with a penalty kill point to his name. A real warrior on both ends of the ice. Forward Paddy Kane-Reilly has been a quieter individual in terms of his public appearances but in terms of talent and class, he's among the best of them totaling 39 points (16 goals, 23 assists) this season so far. Impressive numbers to be sure. Mikhail Loktionov is probably the most noticeable of these three players, and while the others may score more, he definitely takes on a more vocal leadership position in the locker room. With 13 goals and 21 assists for 34 points, Loktionov is no slouch offensively and will definitely be entertaining for this game. With a name like The Dude you know you're going to be in consideration for an all star game, but when you add in the fact he's posted up 10 goals and 20 assists for 30 points, he's all but a shoo-in. The Mammoths leading scorer comes in the form of defenseman Karsten Kadinger. With 16 goals from the blue line and 14 assists for 30 points, he's brought offense on a goal hungry team. He'll make a great addition. Recently included in a blockbuster trade, Cedric Moreau comes in with an impressive .896 save percentage and he'll man the crease for team send down. ON THE ROOKIE SIDE, we have a collection of impressive individuals and personality who deserve this honour. Represent the Halifax Raiders, Iam Essellemm has dominated this season for a younger squad lacking the top tier talent other teams possess. Look for his career trajectory to remain heading up, as it's done since day one. Again, the name probably came in as a factor, but representing all of french Quebec, Asti-Tabarnak Fleur-De-Lys-LaPoutine III has an impressive 7 goals on the season and his buoyant personality will light up the game. Luuk Kraaijkamp has been solid posting an even 5 goals 5 assists for the Mammoths this season on a team that largely scores by committee. He's a fantastic leader and a wise, if quiet asset to have on any team. Otis B. Driftwood has been incredibly impressive posting 11 points on the season. A fantastic player on both ends of the ice, Driftwood is also renown among hockey circles as a bit of a goofball. To downplay the fantastic season of Eri Arai would be ludicrous. Leading rookies in scoring by a huge margin AS A DEFENSEMAN, while only playing 17 minutes a game, Arai is the most deserving player of this honour, to be sure. In net, Grim Wastlund is the prize prospect and should be a force to be reckoned with in the future. While mediocre in his showings this season, it's to be expected if Wastlund can't get in a rhythm he won't play to his full potential, look out for him in the future! 597 words.

The world is filled with animals that been abandoned and abused. Today the SMJHL is partnering with the North American Animal Rescue Fund (NAARF) for a charity game featuring some of the most prominent young players in the world.
Team Woof (Rookies) C - Florence Clijsters A natural center playing winger for the Mammoths this season, Clijsters has the most upside of any rookie center in the league. She has shown her ability with the puck and is one of the most potent young scorers in the league. With further growth she will be a monster at putting the puck in the back of the net. Putting her at center for the Rookie team gives them firepower - which the sorely need against the Send Downs team. RW - Luuk Kraaijkamp I honestly should be putting Iam Essellemm in this spot but Kraaijkamp just works better because the team needs SOME passing. With this rookie class very high on scorers, Luuk brings the passing game in full force. Developing quickly in that regard, Luuk will be the player that drives the offense while Gotze, Clijsters, and Arai put the puck in the net. LW - Manuel Gotze Gotze is a scorer first and a scorer second. His game is built around being able to score the big goal and so far this season he has been doing that for the Colorado Mammoths. A relative unknown to the North American scene before the SMJHL draft, Gotze has become a mainstay for the Mammoths. He brings a very talented scoring presence to the Rookie Team. D - Eri Arai Defensive sensation Eri Arai came out absolutely on fire in the S39 season. Leading all defenders for a good chunk of the season before cooling off a bit. Currently what many would say is the SMJHL RoTY leader, Arai brings great scoring touch but not much physically. Eri is a new breed of defensive player focused on the offensive end rather than the defensive end. Yet again keeping up with the trend that the Rookie Team needs scoring to keep up with the Send Downs. D- Viktor Valentine One of the few bright spots on the Montreal Militia this season, Viktor Valentine brings a calming aspect to his game. Someone who you can throw out in the toughest minutes and he will play excellent defense. With so much focus on scoring goals, adding Valentine to the mix allows the other rookies to focus on the offensive game without worrying about who will make the big defensive play. G - Grim Wastlund A goalie with a bloodline, Grim Wastlund is maybe the most talented goalie prospect in this draft and someone who will likely be a very very good SHL player. He hasn't started much this season but in his shots in relief he has played very well and is poised to become one of the best in the league. He will backstop a fantastic group of rookies. Wastlund is fast, smart, and knows where to be. Team Meow (Send Downs) C - Paddy Kane-Rielly PKR has been one of the most dynamic players in the SMJHL for seasons now. An absolute monster for the Firebirds, it's a shame that he is still stuck down with Prince George at this point because he's such an amazing scorer. There is no other choice for a charity team or all-star team. LW - Logan Jensen Logan Jensen is a bit of an interesting player. Someone who can easily get under the skin of other players and someone loved by his teammates but despised by others - he brings fire to every game he plays in. While this is a charity game, fans do want to have fun, so bringing Jensen and his amazing scoring talent should get the crowd ready to go. RW - Kyler Gill A linemate of PKR, Gill is a great scorer in his own right and many wonder how well he'd do on a line without PKR but the same could be said about Paddy not playing with Gill as well. Kyler Gill is a spectacular winger and someone that will bring fireworks in every game they play in. An obvious choice for this game. D - Karsten Kadinger Kadinger started his career as a winger but soon found out that he fits better in the role of scoring defender. Kadinger has been tearing it up with the Colorado Mammoths and currently sits as the best scoring defender in the SMJHL. He is the perfect compliment to the scoring threats already on the team. D - Brady McIntyre McIntyre brings a little bit of everything with his play. He is the toolbox player the team needs to succeed and he was a no-brainer for this spot. The 2nd leading scoring defender in the SMJHL, he is partnered with Kadinger and they will surely be a deadly duo. G - Chris Partridge Underrated is the first word that pops out when thinking of Chris Partridge. He's a great young goaltender that came out of nowhere. Undrafted and signed as a Free Agent, Patridge has defined the net for the Mammoths this season and looks to be a spectacular find and someone who can be the best goaltender in the SMJHL on any given night. I'd roll with him over any other goalie any day of the week. ![]() ![]() ![]() Trading Card Team currently with big titles

<b><div align="center">The 1st Annual “Mac Memorial Cup”, a charity game in support of the future cure for Butthurt Disease.</div></b>
![]() Scientists say they are within reach of a cure for Butthurt Disease, more commonly known as BHD. “With BHD the rectum gets so inflamed it essentially swallows the rest of the body, making that person an actual, giant asshole,” said lead researcher Doctor Yvette Diaz. “Thus, the puckered frowny-face and shitty attitude.” According to sources at the Center for Disease Control, BHD is highly contagious and does not discriminate, affecting nine out of ten SHL/SMJHL members throughout their careers, some often repeatedly. This disease has unfortunately left skid-marks all over the psyche of the Simulation Hockey League. This has highlighted the issue and kicked the search for a cure into high gear. With the help of Colorado Mammoths winger Kire Yelkrab, and others in the Mammoths organization, they’ve landed several key research grants and will also hold the first annual charity hockey game. The Mac Memorial Cup will battle BHD by raising awareness, taking donations, and offering free butthurt screenings on-site. “Right now the only relief is quitting the league,” said Diaz. “And that’s no longer enough as our vets show symptoms of BHD on Facebook walls, Twitter, and comment sections in forums across the internet. The situation is critical, but this cure shines a light of hope out of the dark, gaping hole of despair.” <div align="center">TEAM NAME</div> ![]() <div align="center">TEAM NAME</div> ![]() ![]() Registered Member
SMJHL Rookie vs. Senddown Charity Game Benefiting St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital
Senddown Starting Lineup Center - Paddy Kane-Rielly of the Prince George Firebirds is third in the league in points and first among all centers, making him an obvious choice for the starting lineup of our senddown squad. Left Wing - DeMaricus Smyth, left winger for the St. Louis Scarecrows has 14 goals and 19 assists to lead all left wingers with 33 points. Right Wing - Logan Jensen, also of the St. Louis Scarecrows is leading all right wingers in the league with 17 goals and 28 assists for a total of 45 points so far on the season. Defense - Thé Dude makes our third member of the St. Louis Scarecrows in the starting lineup for the senddowns. He has 30 points on the season (10 goals, 20 assists) and is a +12 so far. Defense - Mikhail Petrikov, another member of the Prince George Firebirds, is also sitting at 30 points on the season so far (7 goals, 23 assists) in 3 less games played than Thé Dude. He is a +9 so far on the season. Goalie – Tommy Tuck of the Prince George Firebirds gets the start at goal for the senddowns. Tuck has played 33 games and is averaging a 0.895 save %. Rookies Starting Lineup Center – Florence Clijsters of the Colorado Mammoths is leading all rookie centers in points with 11 (2 goals, 9 assists). Left Wing – Iam Essellemm, right winger for the Halifax Raiders, will be lining up at left wing for the rookies. Essellemm is tied for 2nd among all rookies in scoring with 16 points (8 goals, 8 assists) in 16.94 minutes per game. Right Wing – Manuel Gotze, right winger for the Colorado Mammoths, is tied with Essellemm for 2nd in rookie scoring. The impressive stat, and the reason Gotze is still heavily in the rookie of the year discussion is that Gotze has done this while averaging only 9.43 minutes per game. Defense – Eri Arai, defenseman for the Vancouver Whalers, is leading all rookies in scoring with 23 points (9 goals, 14 assists). Arai got off to an extremely hot start, but has slowed over the last few games, re-opening the door for Gotze in the rookie of the year competition. Still, Arai is a no brainer to start at defense to help put butts in seats for our fundraiser. Defense – Blaine McElroy, defenseman for the Colorado Mammoths, is an unexpected starter for the rookies squad. There are a few rookie defenseman who have more points than McElroy this season (4 goals, 6 assists, 10 points), but all of them are heavily negative in +/- this season. McElroy sits at a +10 for the season, and will hopefully help shut down the senddowns top line. Goalie – Walter Hobbs of the Montreal Militia has the most minutes played (510) out of any of the rookie goalies this season. Hobbs is also boasting a respectable 0.878 save percentage so far on the season. ~500 words ![]() Registered Posting Freak
The SMHJL has decided to have a competition to do raise money for charity. You might be wondering which charity we are going for. It's obvious. We're trying to raise money for cancer research given the amount of cancer that SMJHL players are all developing because of the frequent use of PTs to give TPE.
FYI - Since this is a charity event we're not going based off of SMJHL stats - we are just going with how well the People will get along and bring out the fans. Anyways its going to be the ROOKIE team v the Send Down team. Lets start with the Send Downs At Center we have Yannik Berger. Berger is a Captain for the Halifax Raiders and he's gonna be the face of the Send Down team. On the wing we're going to play another Center - Paddy Kane Reilly. Paddy is one of the best known players in the SMJHL and getting his talents and ability on the same line as Berger is amazing Lets add in top scorer Demariyus Smith. That gives the send down an amazing first line. Now on to Defense we're gonna grab two high scoring Defensemen. This is a charity game. Who cares about defense. We want the scoring of The Dude and Karsten Kadinger. They would combine to give the Send Downs an awesome defensive pairing. The Goalie for the Send Downs will the one leading in Goals Against Average - we'll go with Sebastian Primeau No the Rookies is where it's going to get interesting At Center the obvious choice is Connor MacGregor. The dude is a maniac and if I didn't include him I think he would literally murder me. At the first Winger spot we gotta have the best looking and over amazing human Iam Essellemm. No Explanation necessary. The other winger has gotta be the insanely named Asti-Tabarnak Fleur-De-Lys-LaPoutine III . I mean how can you create a charity game without having to do all of these letters on a jersey. For defense men we gotta include Eri Ari. She's leading all rookies in scoring and is a super talent. The other defense men we have to go with Victor Valentine. Though we don't need defense we want someone here who can fuck shit up. Thats my boy Val. Cédric Moreau is going to be the Goalie for the Rooks. Leading all the SMJHL in save percentage he's a must have for the rookies. 411 ![]() Registered Junior Member ![]() Registered S10, S12, S17 Challenge Cup Champion ![]() Registered Senior Member
Rookie Starting Lineup
Forwards Iam Esselem Esselem has been dominant among rookies this season, and sits in second place for points so far. He also has shown a diverse game, with eight goals and eight assists, for a total of sixteen points. Manuel Gotze Another good contributor to his team, Colorado Mammoths forward Manuel Gotze would be another starter for this rookie team. He, just like Esselem, has scored eight goals and has eight assists, and is tied for second place among rookies in total points. Viktor Valenine The final forward I would pick is Viktor Valentine, who plays for the Montreal Militia. The reason I would start Valentine is his unmatched passing ability. Despite his only two goals this season, Valentine has fourteen points thanks to his twelve assists so far this season. Defenseman Eri Arai Vancouver Whaler's defenseman Era Arai is having an incredible season, and upon first glance at the stats you would think that he is on the offensive end. With nine goals and fourteen assists, Arai is leading all SMJHL rookies with twenty three points. Ensio Kalju The other first line defenseman for this team is none other than Ensio Kalju, who has had a relatively stellar season on the defensive end, and is in third place on the Raiders in hits, with forty five so far this season. ————————————————————— Send-down Starting Lineup Forwards Kyler Gill The Firebird’s right winger Kyler Gill is an easy choice for one of the forward slots, as he is leading the league in goals with twenty three. His assist numbers aren’t too shabby either; he is currently sitting in fourth place on the leaderboard in assists, with twenty seven. When it comes to point producers, it doesn’t get much better than Gill, who is tied for first in the league in points per minute, and is also tied for first in total points, with fifty. Logan Jensen Scarecrows center Logan Jensen has made this list because of his nearly unmatched passing ability. He is currently leading the league in assists with thirty one, and is also in fourth place for goals. He is also a great leader, seen in the fact that the Scarecrows are at the top of the standings, are in the lead by six points, and have already clinched a playoff spot. Paddy Kane-Rielly Rounding out the forwards I would go with Kane-Rielly, who is another Firebird having an incredible season. He has nineteen goals and thirty one assists on the season, good enough for fifty points which puts him among the league leaders. Defenseman Quik Mafs Sometimes, the choice lies all in a name. Detroit defender Quik Mafs can do maths really quick, and this team could be unstoppable with someone that has his superior intelligence. Brady McIntyre McIntyre of the Scarecrows was an easy choice, seeing as he is leading all defenders in points scored. Despite two thirds of those points coming from assists, McIntyre has also showed he can score, which will give the opposing goalie a headache I’m sure. Rookie Lineup:
RW - Iam Essellemm He's been one of the few bright spots for the Raiders, really putting the work in on their second line and coming in at second on the team in points. He's also currently tied with another player we'll get to later for most rookie points. C - Mikkel Haugen Probably a surprising pick to some, but he does two things exceptionally well that I really value in a center. First, he is excellent on face offs, taking over 600 of them and winning nearly 60%. Second, he has a ton of hits, actually in second among his Falcons teammates despite playing a normally offensive position. Impressive stuff. LW - Luuk Kraaijkamp Kraaijkamp has been a great performer for the Mammoths this season, coming away with 7 goals and 9 assists so far while playing on that tough third line. I really like his scoring efficiency, as he'd be top 5 in shot % if he had enough to qualify. D1 - Eri Arai Has been struggling as of late but had such a lead on rookie points for so long that he's still tied atop the leaderboard. Add the solid hit totals to that and we have an easy first defenseman pick. D2 - Viktor Valentine It's no secret that the Militia have struggled this season, but here's one of their few bright spots. Valentine is being asked to be a top line defenseman in his first season, and has stepped up in a big way, with 14 assists thus far. Send-downs: RW C LW - The PGF Top Line I tried. I really tried. But I just can't find any reason not to keep this line together for this game. Kyler, Paddy, and Mikhail all have at least 45 points through 41 games, while maintaining an insane +25 or higher rating. Paddy has even been solid on faceoffs as the top line center, and they just move the puck together exceptionally well. They even have 50+ hits each! A true force to be reckoned with D1 - Danny Mete Mete has had a really impressive season for Vancouver. One of 4 players with over 100 hits, he's also been active on the offensive side of things, with 22 assists being the headlining component of his 31 points. D2 - The Dude Our final spot will go to another star defensive player. He's got a great +16 rating and combines that with being 3rd in the league in shot blocks. ![]() Registered S18, S23, S27, S34, S37, S46 Challenge Cup Champion
Team Rookies
C - Florence Clijsters The rookie of the Colorado Mammoths is an center but play at the wing. He has a huge potential. RW - Luuk Kraaijkamp The playmaker from the Colorado Mammoths is maybe the best rookie playmaker. He has also a huge potential. LW - Manuel Gotze Manuel has an very good known namesake. Mario Götze the soccer star who made Germany to an four time World Cup Winner in 2014. Manuel came to North America and had a great season so far. Maybe he can be the Hockey Götze. D - Eri Arai He is the best scoring defender and is still at top. D - Viktor Valentine The passing machine of the Montreal Militia is the other one in the defense lineup of the rookie team. Team Send Downs C - Paddy Kane-Rielly Best Center in the SMJHL today. LW - Logan Jensen The last season dominator is again one of the best. RW - Kyler Gill He plays for the Prince Georgia Firebirds. The key factor for his team. D - Karsten Kadinger He actually leads the Defender in scoring. With that he is actually a candidate for the best defense award. D - Brady McIntyre the St.Louis Captain and very important key player for the team. He is also the 2nd best scoring defender. 222 words

Rookies:
RW - Manuel Gotze- Colorado At the moment the second best goal scorer among rookies with 11 goals in 41 games, also one point behind the overall scoring leader with 22 points, so Gotze has been playing on really high level, especially when you take into consideration the fact that those numbers have come with only 13 minutes on the PP! C - Conor McGregor- Halifax Not afraid to get his hands dirty and let fellow rookie players like myself know if the performance on the ice is not what it should be. Feedback is straight up and sometimes cold. Leader with big L! LW - Reginald Rove - Detroit Rove is perhaps one of the best passers in this years rookie group, can find the open man from almost anywhere - going to be key player in Detroit for years to come! LD - Paz Tappers - Halifax Almost impossible to knock the puck away from Paz, if Rove is a good passer - Paz is not much worse - excellent hockey IQ which makes the game of hockey look almost too easy, 1+9 without any PP time! RD - Blaine McElroy - Colorado One of the most underrated defenders, plays under 10 minutes per game, but he gets the job done - 4 goals and 6 assists with +/- rating of +9. Big reason behind Colorados solid season so far, having depth like this makes any team really tough to play against. G - Walter Hobbs - Montreal Appeared in 11 games so far in the season, started 8 of those. Save percentage of 87.8 and GAA rating of 3.53 per game are solid numbers for rookie goalie! Luxury to have two solid goalies in your team, Montreal has that and it could be a difference maker in the battle for last playoff spot this year! Send-downs: C - Fenton Uriel - Kelowna 5+24 in 41 games, Fenton like to pass the puck a lot and he does it efficiently,so if you want to watch a real playmaker in action- you got model example here! RW - Geoff Higgins - Halifax Leagues top hitter with 124 big ones in 41 games, plays the game like it should be played - hard and fairly. On top of the physical side, Geoff is a player who can actually play - 14 goals and 24 points so far in the year, highest scorer in Halifax. LW - Xavier LaFlamme - Kelowna To round up this playmaker - two-way forward combination, you of course need someone who can shoot! LaFlamme fits the bill perfectly, 13 goals in 41 games while playing mostly on the third line. LD - Mikhail Petrikov - Prince Georgia More assists than any other defender so far in the season with 30 in 41. Modern day defender in many ways, not the most physical one out there, but relies on being on the right place at the right time and once he gets the puck, always has his head up and is able to make the right play time after time. RD - Karsten Kadinger - Colorado Here comes the boom! Third best goal scorer in the whole league with 19 goals and did you see, he is a defender!? Hell of a season so far for Karsten and a real difference maker for Colorado, there is not many players - defenders or forwards who can shoot the puck as well as Karsten can. G - Friedrich Schmidt - St.Louis Keeping the puck from hitting the net is goalies number one job, Karsten has managed to play a perfect, 100% save percentage game six times so far in the season, that is league leading total. Friedrich also has the most wins next to his name with 25! |
