Remove hometown discounts.

Yeah, I'll probably do that soon. Not really relevant, but

Your replacement level players here are significantly worse than those in the NHL. Most teams are rostering players with around 300-400 TPE and these players get eaten alive. In the NHL, the separation of talent between the best players on a roster and the worst is not nearly as drastic.

BUF 4
HAM 6
MAN 6
MIN 6
NEW 16
TOR 8
WKP 13
CGY 15
EDM 11
LAP 12
POR 0
SEA 14
TEX 14
WIN 12

The number next to the team is the number of players the team has above 700 TPE. WIN is not suffering from a shortage of "Above Replacement Level" players, and still did weird minute things. HAM, TOR, and BUF are all in similar boats as MIN and MAN, and they're not doing crazy minutes.

Also, poor Portland.

Damn, Portland.

Don't limit playing time, but can we actually make the salary cap meaningful again?

To be fair, these are current values. I don't know what these values were last season, so maybe Winnipeg only had 8 guys that were above 700 TPE and they made a lot of moves. I don't really pay attention to transactions

I gotta say seeing that 700 TPE gets a lot more time than anything really makes me sad and it's discouraging. Undecided Like obvs not everyone is going to be first liners but holy shit.

I mean, the 700 TPE value I just pulled out because it was in the middle of the "300-400" TPE range cited earlier. The guys who are getting the crazy amounts of minutes are more like 1100+ TPE.

You'll get there eventually. I felt really discouraged when I first joined, too. I was coming in right when they were cracking down on the "TPE Inflation" era, and thought that I'd never get to be a meaningful contributor because regression wouldn't hit the guys ahead of me as hard as it would hit me and I'd always be behind them. Turns out I was wrong

It takes a little time and patience. Stick with it, and you'll be a first liner. It goes in cycles, and while it looks like a long way to the top, it's really not as bad as it seems. Set reasonable goals for each season, and just enjoy your team/community.

But that's just my 2 bits.

If playing time is the issue put a cap on Endurance and let teams manage them accordingly.

Wait wtf. If fatigue only is to injure players doesn't that mean endurance is useless?

It has no effect game-to-game, but over the course of a single game, it still affects which lines get sent out onto the ice and how well they perform while out there. That's why we see discrepancies between wanted and actual ice time.

Oh okay the way simonT talked about it in cs post made it seem like it only effected injuries

I wish it was just as simple as sliding a endurance setting up a few notches to increase the effect of endurance in game.

Could do a league-imposed cap based on Endurance...

Going off of ArGar's suggestion of 24 minute cap for Forwards and 28 minute cap for Defensemen:

90-95 EN : 24 Min for Forwards, 28 Min D
85-89 EN: 22 Min F, 26 Min D
80-84 EN: 20 Min F, 24 Min D
75-80 EN: 18 Min F, 22 Min D
74 and Below: 16 Min F, 20 Min D
96 and Above: No Cap.

Now, a forward is welcome to play 27 minutes per game, if he's willing to use one of his strengths on endurance. It gives us a way to incentivize EN, and make it mean something to the league, even if it doesn't sim to mean as much in the sim as we think it should.

(Also, those are just rough numbers that I came up with in 30 seconds to show the idea, not necessarily my actual suggestion.)

I know it is only preseason and the sample size is very small(8 games)but this is the playing time for the Chiefs forwards currently.[Image: jouz6zs2.jpg]
