Desired % =\= actual

Saying someone should get 50% ice time does not mean they will. Past examples of inflated TOI, please. Or are we just making up an issue because we feel like it?

Last season:
VLAD McZehrl 27+ min/game
Bryce Collins: 26+ min/game
Kian Hamilton: 28+ min/game
Chernika Banananov: 26+ min/game
Jed Lloren: 25+ min/game
Scott Robertson: 26+ min/game (And playing F and D simultaneously?)
Elyk: 25+ min/game

These are all forwards who are playing 25+ min per game. Patrick Kane leads the NHL in icetime among forwards this season, at 22 min/game.
28 = 27% increase in ice-time
27 = 23% increase in ice-time
26 = 18% increase in ice-time
25 = 14% increase in ice-time

This is significant over the course of a season.

I want to add to that I understand most teams run about 9 forwards, so amg might shift a little higher than the NHL, but shouldn't be significantly more.

I propose a 5-24-28 cap.

5 for minimum, and 24 max for forwards, 28 max for defensemen.

Easy peasy.

Alonzo Garbanzo Final Tallies (Among Defensemen):
2nd in Goals (208), All-Time Assists Leader (765)*, All-Time Points Leader (973), 3rd in Hits (2587), All-Time Blocked Shots Leader (1882)*
*All-Time Leader Among All Skaters

Can't we manage fatigue through the sliders?

I don't know enough about STHS to answer that, but based on c's post, no

Thank you for this.

Simply put we don't have the talent pool the NHL does. At the end of the day, playing forwards that much will hurt them more than it will benefit the team. Teams are playing the hell out of these players at their own detriment. I think teams should be able to take on that responsibility and accept the consequences. I've never seen it benefit teams, only individuals

To back up my point, none of these players made the playoffs (save Lloren, but I'd argue SEA got lucky).

Except for Minnesota, but still fair point.

Hamilton and Banananov were on the Chiefs who made the playoffs who actually were 3rd in the east IIRC.
